I'm of the same mindset as your son. I've read in various places that you need to let your sheets "air out and dry" before making the bed.

I do make my bed every day. I let it air out while I'm getting ready which takes about 20 minutes, then make it right before I put on my clothes. I love the way my bed looks when it is all neat and tidy and it's a wonderful ritual to ready it at night for a good night's sleep.

I make my bed, my son's bed and my grandson's bed every day.

Yes every day. When I worked I had to make the bed before I left the house even if I was running late.

Yes, I do. I just love the way my room looks with it all made up. It looks nice and welcoming to me.

I do however let it "air out" for a bit, and make it after my bathroom time and getting dressed.

Most days yes, some days no. I agree that having it made makes the bedroom look much nicer. The other day I made it while I was still in it. I straightened out the blankets, slid out the side and it only required some smoothing to look okay. Now that is lazy!

I do make mine every day.. wouldn't want to crawl into a messy bed at night. Mine sometimes doesn't get made until 10 or 11 in the morning... so it does get aired out.

Yep I make it..but hubby is the sheet changer. :)

I don't make it totally, but I do pull the covers over the sheets so that it looks nice.

Oops, thanks or the reminder...I washed the sheets this morning, but haven't gone back upstairs to make the bed....be back in a few minutes :)

The bed is made every day... no reason not to! It takes all of a minute or two.

I do like the way it looks when it is made and the shams/throw pillows are all in place. Sometimes it doesn't happen, but not very often.

I was for a while there this summer. I painted my bedroom walls a soft eggshell grey and bought all white bedding. My room looks so pretty when the bed is made. BUT...... I've sloughed off lately and only seem to make the bed when I wash the sheets. Sometimes I'll make it the next morning too. But the third day? Probably not. Sometimes my husband will make the bed. He doesn't make it as good as I do (my parents drilled proper bed making into our heads), but it's better than not doing it I suppose.

Every morning after coffee and before shower. I have a fan going, even a made up bed will get freshened if there is air movement.

Absolutely. Usually right after going to the bathroom and taking my pills. It's just a sheet and a quilt...not hard.

Rarely do I make my bed. I do straighten it all out at night before I go to sleep. I have a 2 story house, all the bedrooms are upstairs. No one ever sees it.

We used to just toss the covers up a bit. And then, we were getting the house ready to sell and we never knew when an agent would be there during the day while we worked.

Bed made, no dirty clothes flung about, no dirty dishes in the sink, no other things, too. The house got sold and we never went back to being the way we were.

Ah...I miss the good ole days.

Get up. Throw the covers back to 'air'. Have breakfast. Make the bed...because I do not want to LOOK at or CRAWL INTO an unmade bed hours later. It must take as much as three minutes to make a king bed, spread and all. When DH helps me, it's done even faster.

I remember what Carrie Fisher said about crashing into reality at her first apartment. She came home the first night and wondered why her bathroom sink was dirty. Why, it had toothpaste and some of her hair in it! I suppose nobody had made her bed either.

I go in cycles, sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. I did this morning and it really depends on how much time I spend in the back part of the house. Today it was made.

My mother told us to always make the beds every morning, because if your beds were made, everything else looked better.

I taught my two children to make their beds the year they started school. I thought that was old enough for them to learn how.

I make it every day because DH can't stand an unmade bed. Since he leaves very early every morning, I end up being the one who makes it. I have to wait until after I shower because my lower back and now my shoulders hurt too much right after I get up to make it.

Of course DH insisted the kids make their beds too when they were old enough. They HATED making a bed so much that they never slept under the sheets and comforter. We ended up having to buy each of them sleeping bags so they could sleep on top of their beds and still stay warm. :-)

Absolutely. As soon as I'm up I make the bed and add the eight pillows I have on the bed. I taught my kids to do the same and they still do. Granddaughter never did and I always wondered why she liked it so messy.

As little children, Mom would ask, "Did you make your bed? " before she said, "Good morning ". That was when we came down to breakfast before!? school, even kindergarten.

She also asked if we had hung up our towels and washcloths, folded our nightclothes, put away the toothpaste, etc.

But I don't consider it a character flaw or laziness if someone doesn't make their bed. :-)

Everyday the bed is made before breakfast. Even when we travel in the motor home the bed is made with the comforter and pillows in place. I hate a bedroom that is messy. It only takes a few minutes to put it right.

Yes, indeed! Never liked to see unmade beds or dirty dishes.
But--now my husband, who can't do many things he used to do, insists on making our twin beds, and he does it army style, everything in great order.

When I sense that he is having a bad day I sneak in and make them. We're a team!!

Yes, my bed is made daily, by my husband. I hate looking at a messy bedroom but due to arthritis in my hands, it is hard for me to make the bed. He also changes the sheets on laundry day, which I do appreciate so much!

After all, "You look like an unmade bed," is NOT a compliment!

Not me - and besides I wouldn't want to disturb the dog.

If I don't, the whole room looks messy. So if I didn't make it I'd sure be unhappy.

I can't imagine not making my bed....no matter whether it could be seen by anyone or not, I would know that it wasn't made and it would drive me nuts. My husband knows how important it is to me and if I am feeling bad or if he is being nice, he makes it while I do breakfast. Many times I make it before I leave the bedroom.

I always make mine, its so easy, I just throw the cover back over my side and its done.

JoAnn, you need to quit using a side!!!! Take up the WHOLE bed, roll all over... LOL
