I'm having the same problem this afternoon. It will probably clear out soon. I've had Yahoo Mail for years and years, it's given me very few problems.

Oh, good to know it's not just me. I did manage to get my mail by switching back to Basic.

After re-clicking and refreshing you WILL see a little message at the bottom saying.........Too slow to load, go to Basic email, and click on it. At least your mail will now be usable.

Before, when I was having problems with Yahoo I chose to go to Basic email (using the settings) BUT it doesn't stay on Basic, AND it doesn't remember your contact emails. Even though they are all there with nicknames, you will have to manually type them in. I don't remember any of them, but a few.

What a huge nuisance. Hope it gets back tonormal soon, but as I said I am glad it's not just me!

I have had this problem for months, I can not use anything most of the time but the basic. I don't like it at all.

Yea, it was down yesterday. Ever seen that site: downrightnow.com? It surely indicated it was down when I checked on Yahoo mail yesterday.

Mine was down yesterday but I was able to get to it through my phone. No luck with the computer.

I notice that they changed something. The folders now slide out from the side when you click on Folders rather than appearing at the bottom. Maybe they were making changes. Who knows. Just glad it is working.

At one point yesterday I got a drawing of a young child of diaper age saying, "I'm over capacity."

I'm not having any problems IF I can get the Yahoo site. Quite often I get a big colorful site that belongs to NEO, whoever that is. There is this message there.

Yahoo Groups has changed. They aren't as user-friendly as they used to be and are now NEO as well.

Sue, that sounds like a virus or some other malicious thing. Maybe Raven can suggest a fix for you.

Since I use Firefox with Adblock, I don't see ads such as the baby with a full diaper. Ick.

jasdip, I use Yahoo only for email. I don't know anything about groups. Would you explain that to me, please? Is there a way to get rid of Neo? TIA

The crying baby in a diaper wasn't an ad or anything a blocker would block. It appeared to be an image Yahoo served up when the mail service was unavailable as a (poor) effort to deflect users' anger.

I just clicked on my link further up to see if the HUGE outage had disappeared and it looks there is a new outage.

rob333, have you cleared your browser cache since the problems? Try that if not - it's a good thing to do daily anyway.

I thought the connection issues were gone, mine's working fine.

If you are going to your yahoo account by using a saved link or bookmark don't do that, type yahoo directly into the url address bar at the top of your browser. Yahoo has made changes to the pages and many of the links no longer direct to the page it once did.
I have been helping my neighbor with her problem and that was the fix for her she had to clear out all her old bookmarks and links and start new using yahoo.com typed in.

downrightnow.com shows there is another outage in the works.

Yahoo mail has been completely fine for me for more than the last 24 hours. I had a log-on problem for just a few hours yesterday morning.

Personally, I ignore information from sites that pass on unsubstantiated information from unknown sources. Maybe this incident is a good example of how information on such sites can be unreliable.

Oops, thanks Jasdip. What I said above in this post was wrong, my problem was Monday morning (48 hours ago). It's been fine since noon on Monday.

Mine has been working perfectly, since it was acting up the other day, when this thread was started

Quite often I have a hard time, after I've opened a message, or clicked on several, and want to move it/them to a folder, to get it done: have to click half a dozen times before it gets done.

I often have to sign out of my email about half a dozen times before I get back to Yahoo home page, and have to get detoured en route to suggest that I work on my profile page.

And then, if I want to go to another email address, when I click on "Inbox" ... it takes me to the one that I've just closed, quite often three or four times, or lf a dozen, before it shows me the address box to let me access the alternate.

joyful, what you're describing sounds more likely to be an internet connection problem than a website problem. Are you connecting from an urban area and using a major provider?

Uh no, it was fully substantiated. I couldn't look at my email off/on and the news reported infuriated customers the next day. I didn't check the site before hand. I checked it because my email was wonky. And only my Yahoo email. My guess snidely, is that it is something like Canadians weren't affected, but the US was, or vice-versa.

C'mon, rob333. I use Yahoo mail, I'm aware of the outage and problems.

Reread the first sentence, he's talking about having problems "quite often", and having to use multiple clicks "often".

Yahoo's mail problems have been too numerous in recent months/years, but it works on most days. My guess is that the recurring problems described arise from the connection, the PC, or the user. When he talks about being detoured to his profile, for example, I suspect he clicked on the wrong thing to exit.

Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).

Snidely was discussing my problems, which were somewhat different. When I run the cursor over the "Hi Ed", a dialogue box appears, with one of the choices being "Sign out", which is the one on which I click, then it takes me to a page dealing with my profile, with a suggestion that I deal with it, which I haven't, and a "No, thanks" in a tiny box beneath that.

I'm dealing with the computer at the local rural library. It usually lets me do what I wish without complications.

Is anyone else not receiving certain emails? I think this is happening to us (with Yahoo,) and I can't find them in the junk file either. Actually, there are never any junk emails in Outlook that it will show, even though the setting is on high. Where are they going? (Not in the trash either.) I started a group email with three others and did not receive the email of one person who replied; the other friend had to forward it to me. This is just the latest that I know of.
