What's for dinner Tuesday?

I was starving when I got back from my appointment and stopped at Publix to see if they had anything that looked good. I got 3 small chicken wings which I'm sure are delicious but had pepper on them and I'm really sensitive to spices these days and couldn't eat them. Just had a bowl of soup and some tapioca pudding. Maybe later I'll have another protein shake.

Made a big pot of Tuscan bean soup and cornbread!

Glenda, are you in the path of this latest storm?

I got the urge for potato salad today so made some up. I fried a hamburger patty, topped it with tomato and onion slice, no bread.

I cooked up a batch of my rice and mixed grains with added quinoa, celery, carrots, and onions tossed in with the broth at the very beginning. I added some smoked sausage half way through, cut into half inch rounds and a couple of big handfuls of kale at the end. Hot sauce to taste! Yum. This concoction is also great with chicken or shrimp....or as a side dish. Nice on a cold evening.

We went to the club tonight to finish up our minimum since we leave for Florida on Saturday. DH had a half-price hamburger since it's half price night tonight and my friend and I had a small Caesar salad and an appetizer of risotto and wild mushrooms. Just a perfect size dinner. It was beautiful here todayÃ¢ÂÂ¦in the 70's. Played my first 18 holes of golf since November. Shot 103 which is not great but I didn't expect much since I haven't had a club in my hand since early November and I didn't even get over early enough to hit some balls. The putting wasn't so great either and that's the best part of my game. Just a taste of the good weather to come.

I've only been up an hour or so, and saw this thread and couldn't believe so many had already planned dinner. You'all got me. DH is gone for some days, so easy-peasy meals on the agenda here. Boca Burger last night.... most likely a salad and B-Burger again tonight. Beautiful Central Coast Strawberries for snack/desert. Does that make me first today????? I'm keeping my eye on the white flowers all over the Strawberry bed here!

We're both off work the rest of the week. This morning, we did some shopping & I worked on the living room Christmas tree this afternoon & evening. We've settled in for the night to watch Sleepy Hollow (it's filmed near us!). For dinner, we had a salad (spinach, pears, Trader Joe's cranberry goat cheese, and blood orange vinaigrette) with French onion soup. We're having crazy weather. Sunday & Monday were clear but in the 40's. Today was in the low 70's & rainy. Tomorrow will be the same. Thursday is supposed to be back in the the 40's again.

Glenda, Tuscan bean soup sounds wonderful! Would you share your recipe?

We're having leftovers again - sloppy joes. I'll make a salad as well.

We're having another winter storm. I left work about 2:30. The trees had a lot of ice by then. I was worried about crossing the bridges to get home, but it was ok at that time. The news later reported several accidents on the big bridge I use. My office is on a delay until 12pm tomorrow. If this ice continues, I'll be surprised if we open. Several of our offices in more northern counties closed this morning and are closed again tomorrow. Things are supposed to be back to normal by Thurs.

I put a chicken breast dish in the oven, has boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced fresh mushrooms, broccoli florets, cream of mushroom with roasted garlic soup and some wine for a sauce. Topped with some grated colby jack cheese.

Kittiesmom, I'm glad you got home safely. Hope you don't have to work tomorrow. Enjoy the sloppy joes. They're always a good thing!

Mary, are you in the path of that storm Glenda is talking about? It looks like it's going straight across GA and then head north, but maybe that's changed. No doctor today, just finished up business from Harry's death.

That chicken sounds good, Raven. I need to put mushrooms on my grocery list. I bought a 2-1/2 qt. crockpot when they were on sale at Wal-Mart before T-giving. I could use it since my other is way too big.

Not much of an appetite....Robert is having to 'camp out ' at the university where he works in order to facilitate smooth operations in the event of what looks like horrible weather starting tonight. He'll probably be gone for a couple of days. There's a nice hotel on campus, so he won't exactly be suffering, lol. But we really don't like being separated.

I'll probably end up with leftovers from last night.....not a bad deal at all.

I had a meatloaf sandwich and a glass of milk. I also had some lime jello and cottage cheese salad.

After much indecision about what to have, I finally decided it was a good day for soup. Got a container of Turkey Orzo soup from the freezer that daughter had given me a couple weeks ago. While I was thawing it, the doorbell rang. Opened the door and there was sweet daughter bearing a dozen of her homemade raisin filled cookies! Perfect! Going out to the kitchen now to indulge.

Rhizo, sorry your DH won't make it home tonight. Hope that storm isn't as bad as they think . Enjoy your evening anyway. :(

No dinner here...it was help yourself night..had to sit through 2.5 hours of pre senior year HS stuff and hubby missed his usual boat..so he got home 40 minutes later than usual and Kellan and I were already gone an hour before he arrived.

They some how managed to eat something. ;)
