Pancakes for husband when he comes in from cleaning off his car and I am just having some cottage cheese. Mike is cleaning out our driveway with our tractor. I am sending home the brownies and some of my lemon glazed cake with him. I hope he does not forget it!

Patti, please don't feel that you have to comment on all our posts. I am just happy to have you back online with us. We had chicken tempura, broccoli and rice. I am eating a kitkat for dessert.

Patti, it was good to read you are out & doing things. I know it helps to keep your mind on other things besides your health.

I wish we were near one another as I made a homemade cho. pie today. We could have sat & had a piece together.

Hi Patti! You're so good to start this thread....the rest of us slackers should do a better job.

Last night, I roasted a chicken and tonight it will be seen in a 're-run ' of chicken and mixed grains and rice, black beans, onions, green peppers, chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, and southwest seasoning (Penzeys salt free mix). I'll toss in a couple of handfuls of chopped kale at the end with some hot sauce.

Sue, I'll clean your driveway for brownies and lemon cake. Yum! I can eat pancakes and have some frozen. A batch sure makes a lot when cooking for one. Love them, too.

Shirley, it's my favorite Stouffer's! I will be happy to get off them and cook again, but sure glad they're available now. I was going to make porcupines when the kids were here, but I made chili instead. Wish I'd gone with the porcupines.

Pam, you're so sweet. I really like reading what you all are eating and feel like if you're kind enough to post, the least I can do is acknowledge it. It used to be called "managing your post" or something like that. I'm sneaking in your kitchen next time you make tempura :-) And after I finish all of it, I'm stealing all your kitkats!! HA!

Mary, I try to get out at least once a week to shop, but also try to avoid crowds. Don't need to get sick again. Then I have to go pick up my mail and take the trash, so I do get out. It would be fun to be neighbors (well, maybe Pam wouldn't like to be my neighbor since I'm stealing her stash). I hope you are feeling better and get your health taken care of Is everything going well with your knee? I saw your post on going to an endo? At least now I know what one is :0

Pam: Here's a couple of my 'tricks' with leftovers. I get a freebie calendar from a local business. Every time I cook, I put it on the calendar right away, and I ck it everyday so that I don't forget what's in the refrigerator. It's too easy to forget just when you made something. I use lock n lock containers for most leftovers. Even if I just open a can of peaches, I write it on the calendar so I know how long it's been opened.

I shovelled the sidewalks and most of the parking lot today. The snow stopped finally, mid-afternoon.

I made sloppy joes for dinner, we love them, and they are so quick and easy to make. I decided to make an apple crostata, so it's now in the oven.

The Landlord knocked on our door around 6, to thank us for shovelling. He was telling his wife, that he'll have to fire up the snow blower when he got home from work, and he came home to see it all cleaned! He was so grateful. I like shovelling, more so than hubby, but it's so nice for it to be appreciated.

It's my 74th birthday so we are going to The Hitching Post in Casmalia, CA.
I am having a steak and scallops cooked over an open pit with red oak coals. They also have vegetables, artichokes and asparagus cooked that way, too.
It comes with a salad, a shrimp cocktail, the entree, coffee and ice cream for dessert.
It is way out in the country but well worth the drive.

Carol, happy birthday! Golly, that menu sounds fabulous and so does the restaurant. Well worth it.

Tonight was Ladies Night Out. There was a demonstration on dessert making (pretty boring) but the appetizers were pretty good. lamb chops, potato slices with cream cheese and caviar, pot stickers, some kind of wrap (that was pretty bad), onion and sun dried tomato dip with chips. That was dinner for me.

Mediterranean Pasta.
Fresh tomatoes, garlic, olive oil,black olives, salt and pepper. Tossed with Feta cheese.

Rhizo, you're funny, and also very creative. Your dinner sounds delish!

Jasdip, you sure are getting your exercise with all the shoveling. I think your landlord should give you a couple of free months' rent. Now that would be appreciation! Don't you love tasty, fast and filling dinners. I can almost smell your crostata. Mmmmm!

Georgysmom, well I'd eat it but I wouldn't be a true happy camper. The potatoes are about the only thing that sound really good.

I had leftover taco makings but Lauren wanted pizza. So we ordered Dominos pizza, stuffed bread sticks and bbq chicken wings. I need to start eating better (healthier) again. I've been really bad lately.

Sausage and chicken jambalaya and hot biscuits..just had a small apple for "dessert".

We had Butoni 4 cheese ravioli in Prego pasta sauce. I had gone to the supermarket to get salad fixins only to find out the market was out of power and they weren't allowed to sell any perishables! I am grateful our power is still on but so many in my community are still without!
