I just took four 8x4 loaves of Glenda's banana bread out of the oven, let them set 10 minutes and then wrapped them in plastic wrap. It was a tip I read on a blog somewhere and thought I'd try it. It's supposed to keep the bread moist for days.

I found Hefty foil bread pans w/plastic lids at Wal-Mart over the holidays and hadn't used them. They are a little smaller than a glass/metal regular bread pan, but larger than those tiny ones. Just the right size. I actually washed them well and will use them again. I'm so cheap--that's what happens when you come from a large family!!

This afternoon is cookie baking, namely Jasdip's oatmeal cookies. If I'm not comatose from the kitchen by then I think I'll make cauliflower soup since I bought leeks just for the occasion. I've never cooked with leeks, have you? I just know you have to clean them well because they may have grit in them. The thought of grit is why I haven't tried them before now. Ick!

I'm sure happy to be in the kitchen!
