Tree down situation

The ice storm in SE PA yesterday uprooted our neighbor's very large tree bringing it down entirely in our back yard right next to our in-ground pool though branches are atop the cover of the pool. We are hoping there is not concrete damage to the pool area and no punctures in the pool cover since this cover is new and VERY expensive custom made to fit our pool shape). Don't know what other potential yard/garden damage there is until the snow/ice is gone and we can evaluation the situation including removing a part of the pool cover. The tree did not touch our house, but did down a small garden fence. From the same uproot, there is a slim, tall tree that fell in his own yard so he'll need to get that cleaned up eventually by a pro, unless he tackles it with his own chainsaw.

We have never talked to this neighbor, don't know them, as there is a bit of distance between properties including a sparse wooded area between yards.

Do you think it's worth approaching the neighbor to see what his intentions are, if any, (ie: he could say it's our problem or would be willing to pay for some of the removal) Removal will be roughly $1,400+. Allstate said it's not covered.

What would you do in this situation in terms of approaching the neighbor or not? Yes, I took plenty of pictures.
