After our huge blizzard last week in which we got two feet of snow and it damaged our town and harbor horribly, we're getting another foot expected with tomorrow's storm. I haven't been out for two weeks due to surgery and hope to get stitches out Tues, God willing. We were lucky never to have lost power so far, fingers crossed.

It's all just north of me, for which I am truly thankful. I do feel for you all that are having to deal with all this snow.

We had such a bad winter last year, that this year has truly been a blessing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it remains that way for the rest of the winter.

I am getting it here on the NW side of Chicago, a few minutes from Ohare. We have plowed twice and are full up again. Wind has really picked up and the temps are falling too.

And now it looks like the snowblower is on the fritz, the little start button is missing......

We got about 8 inches of snow overnight. DS cleared my drive and sidewalks and also for my neighbor. The snow has kept up and he will have to shovel again. Winds aren't high enough to be considered a blizzard but they sure blow the snow.

It's coming here overnight tonight and into tomorrow. I've spent the day preparing. Still trying to get my stovepipe back together again.

Northern Iowa has snow and some wind but not a blizzard. It could have been a lot worse. I had to shovel to get any south door open this morning. We didn't loose power and I'm thankful for that. My snowplow man hasn't been here yet. It doesn't matter. I'm not going anywhere! I LOVE being retired!

It snowed a bit here this morning, I hope it quits. I have out patient surgery tomorrow and I want to get it over with.

This cold misery is why we moved to the Southwest eons ago. I like being able to run out for a quick errand without having to bundle up or think of the weather report or get help getting the car to start.

Not really a blizzard, but plenty of snow. We did not have high wind, but a steady breeze. The wind kicked up when it changed to the north near the end of the storm. Looks like 8 to 10 inches. Its stange stuff: Very tiny, almost invisible frost flakes, However, there is a lot of 'em. The snow is light. It scatters every which way from the snout of the snow blower and the breeze picks it up to spread it (back where i cleared already). After 8 pm tonight, the snow tapered off and the temperature begn dropping. Tomorrow is going to be a miserable work day. The snow plows have been out, but there's plenty of places to get stuck. A fire truck headed to a blaze got stuck and had to get assistance to get going again. Iy wasn't in deep snow, just slippery and could not push against 6 inches that was on the street.

Geez. I almost feel guilty, and if I thought for one second this storm came because of a clipper, I would say sorry.

The storm that pushed through my neck of the woods on Friday did not produce enough snow to worry about, but the wind was deadly!! Could not see 200 yards ahead of you. But the last two days have been sunny and bright, just really cold.

We have the wind today... in Nashville! How's that for far reaching. I didn't think it would affect us. I asked my boss before I left on Friday did he think he'd make it to his meeting in Chicago yesterday/today and he said, oh yes, snow is nothing to Chicago.

All flight were cancelled as of 9AM yesterday morning out of Nashville (he was on a 5:34PM flight and went in at 8AM trying to get out), and if he didn't get on the one flight that is in the air right this very moment, he'll be here today instead of Chicago. I didn't think it'd go well. Drat! We've been working on that meeting for months! I was really hoping it'd be over today. Worse, will he make it back this evening if he gets there today?

oops! we ended up with 12-16 here in Detroit as well! dh had to use heater spray to get the lock off the shed for snowblower...it bright sun but bitterly cold....

Really cold, windy and blizzardy up here in the wilds of Canada.

Took me 3 trips outside shoveling but got my car dug out. Also helped 3 neighbors shovel. Snow drift went to the top of my windows. At 10:00 pm last night they said OHare had 14 inches. My guess is we got 18 though. At least I can get out of my spot to go to work tomorrow.

Bless all of you who had this snow/ice/winds that are causing you problems again!

Here in east central KS, we were thankful for an inch of rain (needed it)~~while just about 100 miles north had 6-8 inches of blowing snow. My grandson was driving back to college and he could not see if he was on the road or not...thankfully, he made it okay. As the result, so many school buss could not make their routes, so school was cancelled in the northern part of the state.

Some snow Sunday, not a lot, and it was to snow overnight, so I wondered whether I could get out to do some things today but there was not a lot and the lane was blown out early this morning so I could rejoice in the bright sun.

Snow blocking the storm door on the back porch as high as my crotch, as I wrote elsewhere (Prairie Rose's warning to the groundhog, I think), so I took the shovel with me as I went out the front door.

When I drove down the lane, the wind had blown a substantial amount back in but I could get through all right.

Men's group at the second church has arranged a tour of our local brewery - originally headquarters of Labatt's - for this evening, so I hope that I can get back in without trouble.

In Windsor we ended up with about 16 inches and the snow was really heavy to shovel. I have deep front porch steps and during the night you couldn't even see the steps, just looked like a slope of snow. I only ended up shoveling the porch off and the sidewalk, I had to give up by the time I got to the driveway because my back and shoulder started to give out. I didn't dare lift the heavy snow so I sliced into it, broke it up and shoveled it to the side as I went along. We broke our all time snow record. First time schools have been closed for any reason in 10 years

Chicago Ohare area topped out at 19.3 inches. Between us and the neighbors on both sides we plowed 6 times. The neighbor behind us has a Bobcat, and he graciously scoops out our garage area and does a bit of the alley. Or as his wife says, he goes out to play with his toy.......

City plow came by Monday evening and did the street. But the best thing is the way we all pitch in and help each other shovel out.

Nice day on Monday, but very windy here in Savannah! Far reaching weather effects. Still 10-15 degrees below the normal highs, which are usually low 60s this time of year.
