ROTFLMAO! I didn't know there was a thread going on about this. It's about time somebody mentioned this! I LOL daily when I peruse the CL's ads. Where are these people coming from? People, proof your ads before you hit that "submit" button. I really LOL when they list an appliance for sale that is so filthy and then they say "would really look nice when cleaned up". Well, duh, clean it up before you take the picture and heck, you might actually "sale" it! I'm glad somebody posted this thread, I've been thinking the very same thing for months. LOL Now I think I'll go have a looky at Craig's list and see if I can find me sum of them thar anteek chester draws.

This isn't so much a funny story as it is a success story. My boys don't potty on our regular 1 mile walks anymore. They either go before we leave or when we come home I let them out. If the walk is more than a mile, the one mile point seems to be the limit, they will have to go. So for our extra long weekend walks that is different but most of the time I don't have to pick up any of this anymore. ._-=+=-_._-=+=-_._-=+=-_._-=+=-_._-=+=-_. Ok now that is the success story, now for a disgusting story. When you have a long haired dog(s), every now and then there will be little dried doodieballs in the coat under their tail somewhere. If you don't discover this at grooming time or if they have to go potty before that then all that comes out could get stuck there in the hair and you have to wash it all out. It is nasty! Every now and then we have to do "butt checks" and take a quick whiff to make sure there's nothing hiding under the tail. What is worse is diarrhea. You have to wash that out of their coat also.

As everyone knows, beagles make excellent watch dogs and really horrible guard dogs. A man and his 3 or 4 year old son were walking by down our alley. My beagle started braying and spiking up because they had stopped to look at her. We went out and the man was laughing at her, and so was the kid. He asked his kid if he wanted to see the puppy and picked the kid up. Well as soon as the kid was up higher and she could see him better, she bolted. She was terrified. Came to stand behind my legs and bark and shake with her tail between her legs. The man and his son left, and I'll be darned if she didn't spend the rest of the night trying to 'track' the man and his son. She kept going back to the spot where they stood, sniffing the fence and following it all the way to where it meets the neighbors fence, over and over. I can't help but laugh at her, cause I know if she ever finds anything she's been trying to track, she'll tuck her tail and run the other way. She'd be the worst hunting beagle ever, I think. But she tries to do her job, thats for sure.

This is a Christmas story with me as the grinch: the year my daughter was born in October my FIL had heart surgery a few weeks later followed by a stroke. He was gravely ill for months and we weren't sure he was going to make it. Since he was still in the hospital ICU, I volunteered to host our family Christmas Eve party at our house. This gathering was the substitute for my MIL's cherished Christmas Eve famiy party which was her pride and joy activity, planned carefully by her for months and hosted by her. At <2 months postpartum and with an older toddler in the house (my son was turning 3 in January) I shouldn't have been anywhere near hosting a major dinner/party event much less doing it with the heaviest of emotional overtones. Boy howdy, what could possibly go wrong. The family gathered-about 10 of us-and I tried my best but somewhere mid evening my spirits, my will and my energy just gave out. The baby was fussing, the toddler was cranked up to 11 on the manic energy scale, the dinner debris for 10 was piled in the kitchen and once the gifts had been unwrapped and the living room was covered in wrapping debris...I snapped. I told everyone the evening was over, time to go home, goodnight and get out. Looking back I can't even summon up much regret because everything was such a blur. What makes it hilarious is that we had one of those huge early edition video cameras and my BIL was filming the evening. The very last sequence shows the silent foyer with our front door ajar, dark night outside while his voice intones 'and then we all left'. My SIL told me I was definitely the scandalous talk of the family for quite awhile after that holiday gathering. Happily after a long convalescence my FIL recovered and we had several more happy Xmas Eve gatherings with my MIL hosting.
