I am gonna try parryi huachucensis in the ground this yr too. Have 5 of those, agave ocahui, toumeyana v. Bella, and leuguilla. I have shark skin, montana, parrasana, utahnesis, obsura and lophantha splendida all of which I have no back ups so they have to stay in pots.

I agree Bernd. I think the Seawright pic is too close. I took it with my cell phone. I think either UK's pic could work if it was cropped properly and I also like Wendy's pic with the yellow companion flowers. I agree with Wendy that the tag should go if possible. Does anyone have good editing skills with Photoshop elements or other editing software? Here's UK's Liberty with a little bit of cropping and some edge blur. I'm trying to make it pop out from the photo. That's about the most I can do with iPhoto. What do you think? Steve

I meant to update the forum on this earlier. Thanks for bringing it back up. I tried several different methods of contacting Papou's family including several different email addresses and a couple of phone numbers. No luck. I then sent a letter by certified mail (return receipt requested) to Papou's last known street address in Canada sometime in late February. About a month later the letter came back having been unclaimed by anyone at that address. Some forum veteran sent me a private email mentioning that Papou and his family regularly spent the winters in Florida and returned to Canada for Spring and Summer. It is my intention to resend this letter to his family once again as a last ditch effort to contact them and get permission to use this photo. GW has made it clear that they are unwilling to use Papou's photo without permission from the family. If we can't get that permission, then I would suggest that we use the second most popular choice among the photos. That was Wendy's photo of Liberty. Let me give the mail one last chance. Hopefully, Papou's family will have returned from Florida by now and we can contact them. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to them. Unfortunately I was out of commission and unable to participate in the original vote. Papou would have loved being honored so, and his would have been my first choice. My second would have been Ken's. The leaf size and definition does it for me. Wendy's is also very lovely and would make a beautiful opening page picture.
