Hip revision Surgery

My husband had a 19 year old total hip replacement that just wore out. Dec 5... 5 weeks ago he had a hip revision, they went in and did some parts replacing.
He got along so well with the surgery has had no pain.
It is the recovery time we are dealing with.

He came home with orders of only feather wt. bearing on this leg for 6 weeks. 6 wk post op check is next week.
He also came home wearing a ortho abductive brace for 10 weeks, must wear 24 7, except while showering.
He gets around with the use of a walker. We can deal with all this. It seems the hip revision surgery is a slower recovery than the original hip replacement. He returned to work at 5 weeks on crutches in 1994. By several different ones we were told the hip revisions recovery was the hard part....we just weren't listening to this.

Just wondering others experiences with the hip revision surgery. shirl
