Sounds like a theme for this years ads- Toyota is doing one about dads, too.

The commercials weren't anything this year like in the past. There are some websites where you can go and check out the commercials. It's OK Sally if you didn't watch the game. But I'm a Colts fan, along with being a Texans fan, and I can only say that the game was very exciting, . . . well at least here at our house. We had 12 people here for a party, and the screaming was exciting. Peyton Manning was hot. And we all enjoyed the half time show with Prince signing Purple Rain as the rain continued to fall heavily. But then we are an "older group of people". Not quite senior citizens yet, but quickly approaching there. HA! It rained and rained and rained. Considering all, with the sloppy field, I really think both teams played well. I read that it was the worst weather ever in Super Bowl history, so all in all we thought that it was a good game. And of course it really helps to watch Super Bowl when you have your favorite team playing. Anyway, I HAD A GREAT TIME!

This recipe for Cowboy Caviar was made at one of our company pot luck parties, and I've made it for many other parties. Everyone asks for the recipe. The dressing has some sugar in it so it really has a nice hot/sweet taste. It also makes a big bowl! Serve with tortilla chips. COWBOY CAVIAR DRESSING: 1/2 CUP VINEGAR 1/2 CUP SUGAR 1 CUP OIL BRING THE DRESSING INGREDIENTS TO A BOIL AND LET COOL DRAIN AND RINSE ALL THE FOLLOWING CANNED INGREDIENTS FIRST AND PUT IN A BIG BOWL WITH FRESH INGREDIENTS: 1 CAN WHITE CORN (OR GREEN GIANT MEXI-CORN) I USE 2 CANS MEXI CORN 1 CAN PINTO BEANS W/JALAPENOS 1 CAN BLACK-EYED PEAS W/JALAPENOS 1 CAN BLACK BEANS (RINSE THOROUGHLY) 1 EACH GREEN, YELLOW AND RED PEPPERS - CHOPPED FINELY 1 MEDIUM RED ONION - CHOPPED FINELY CILANTRO CHOPPED (TO TASTE - I USE AT LEAST 1/2 CUP 1 FINELY MINCED JALAPENO PEPPER (MORE OR LESS TO TASTE) POUR COOLED DRESSING OVER ALL AND STIR GENTLY WITH A SPATULA REFRIGERATE OVERNIGHT FOR BEST TASTE SERVE WITH CHIPS, ALSO GREAT AS A SALAD

Yes that one from Dodge to the farmers was great. I loved that Clysdale one. The Skechers and Dorito with the goat were good. I hated the kissing one it had a lot of controversy before it came out too. OH yes the old folks night out at Taco Bell was funny. OH OH I absolutely loved the one for Doritoes with the daddy and his buddies all dressed up and having the tea party with the little girl and wife walks in and says is that my wedding dress? He said might be! OH I did LOL as usually the talking baby etrade ad was good. The Hyundai one with the car stuck behind all sorts of crazy vehicles was good. If you missed any I know I did miss a few here is the link to all of them Super Bowl 2013 ads I was not at all impressed with the half time show, I would much prefer something with some entertainment value. They are saying in some places I have seen that the black out was caused by the Beyonce show. Since it was in New Orleans it would have made sense to go with what Louisiana is all about, Zydeco music, the Nevile brothers, Dr. John, the Jazz band. A real entertaining show! Everyone has already seen and heard Beyonce show up in her bathing suit and sing more times than I care to count. And half the time she isn't really singing that is NOT entertaining to me sorry.

Didn't see the Superbowl but husband did. Glad the Broncos won! My twin and I took our daughters to a Bridal Fair and I got to spend the day with my granddaughter which I ALWAYS love! She is taking a nap right now!! Can't wait to take her and her big brother to the Movies!!

Socks Dove candy and Dove personal care have nothing to do with each other. Different companies, same name. Both brands have been around forever; I've been using Dove bar soap since I was a little girl.

Here's my take - it's unabashedly aimed at triggering an emotional response....from femaies. For a product positioned for male users.

I think that's a very peculiar approach to sell soap and a very odd commercial. As a male, it lost my attention halfway. Commercials don't make me teary-eyed, I know females are different.

Maybe it's because often the women are picking up the personal care products for the whole family, including dad.

Yup, definitely misty-eyed. I think they should have gone for silence at the end, though. The vocal instructions about the hashtag, etc., detracted from it, I think. They could have just flashed a short message.

I didn't find the ad particularly compelling or emotional. It was better than average, though.

I'm just happy to see an ad that doesn't portray men as idiots - you know the type, LOL. Men starting a blender without the top on and shrugging at the mess, men leaving dirty diapers on the kitchen counter, or having a massage on the kitchen island... Honestly, I have never met a man as stupid as those portrayed in ads.
