The parties are over. The sound-stage in the local park has been dismantled, we have taken down the bunting and our neighbour, much to his consternation has re-flown his Union Jack the 'right' way up. It was flying the signal for distress at sea for a few days! The Tall Ships flotilla have sailed from Gloucester Docks down the River Severn to the Bristol Channel and away to the Western Approaches and all points of the compass. And on a happy note a US cousin of DH who visited from DC some days ago has sent us a Thank You gift of a Jubilee Hamper from the very up-market/posh London store Fortnum and Mason (the Queen's Grocer). We have been drinking real tea (for which I had to find the strainer) and eating expensive choccy bics from a tin which, when opened, played the National Anthem. There was even a commemorative plate and a Tea Towel with which my servants could wipe the cups and saucers . . .

I liked it a lot. I'm in the camp of liking the way she divided the living room. Long living rooms with a centered fireplace show up often on the Home Decorating side as a design problem, and I thought her two functional areas made great use of the space. I always appreciate when designers on these tours point out the things they love that aren't particularly special from a design standpoint, but are favorites anyway, like the happy statue in the corner of the dining room (which I gathered was a mass market, or at least an inexpensive, piece). Sometimes it is a piece that is sentimental in some way, but sometimes it's just, "It makes me happy," like the happy man statue.

This just makes me so happy. before: after: In the second bedroom, there are two twin beds with a round end table that is too small between them. Tonight I am picking up this cute FB Mkt desk to replace the round table. My DS often has to work when he visits so in addition to being cute, it’s a practical addition.

I began having trouble finding it long ago and Costco had quit stocking it. I changed to Tide Original and was quite happy with it. I've had a many year habit of buying laundry products at Costco. The Tide they are offering recently is liquid, pods, or Tide with Oxy. I just want plain Tide, can put my own additive in if needed. I've been ordering it delivered (free with the right sized order) from Walmart and Target. The only liquid I've ever used in a machine is Woolite very occasionally for just a handful of my more delicate things.

I just now got home from lunch at Glenda's we like these 3+ hour lunches we are having every month!!! We talk and laugh and share good food. She had white chili and cheesy french toast and I forget what she called our liquid dessert, but it was yummy!!! I had never had white chili before and I want the recipe so I can have it again!!!
I sure wish yall could join us, we have the best time!!!
