What's for Dinner ... Friday?

Cold, snowy, windy....just overall yucky here in Ohio.

My main meal will be ham, green beans, potatoes, and a biscuit with jelly. Hope it warms up my insides.

How about your main meal today?

Lobster Tail Dinner with my DS and DDIL to celebrate my Birthday, which was on the 29th. They were away and my ankle too painful at that time. Can't wait. It's my most absolutely favorite food. I get it about once a year. So I really enjoy it when I do.

Lobster sounds great....enjoy! We are having a big salad and I am making a recipe that I found on Pinterest....Cheesy Vegetable Chowder. No sun here. It is in the mid 30's, very, very overcast and misting rain. At least we haven't gotten as much rain as other nearby areas. Too cold for me. I hate cold weather....just not used to it at all.

Busy day today (really, about the last 10 or so days) and we're doing our easy fall back dinner. DH is outside roasting potatoes and will do a quick steak on the grill, I'm going to just steam some asparagus and rinse some blueberries for some antioxidants... I think I'll do a nicer dinner at some point this weekend, I somehow have a sale ham in each of two refrigerators, use by dates on both first week in June. One I'll freeze, the other I'll cook. We'll probably be having ham with au gratin potatoes, ham and bean soup, ham and eggs - all next week ;)

Our landlords must have made a stop in Ohio Shirley! That happens to us regularly! LOL Hubby has the urge for a ham, so we bought one today and will have that with some potatoes and green beans tomorrow. I made a pasta salad and my Asian coleslaw.

It's ridiculously hot here over 100. Hubby is going to throw a couple of nice bone in ribeyes on the grill, leave the heat outside. I will do some baby red potatoes in the microwave instead of the oven. Sliced tomatoes. I am not hungry at all, had a slice of pizza for late lunch. I had carotid artery scans done today and the vampires had to have some of my blood too. Whew too hot to be out doing anything! Another baby died in a car I saw on the news, at a Waffle house restaurant, I just don't get that one. A man came running out to the car when he saw the ambulance pull up. I guess he just needed some waffles. Crazy stuff.

It is cold here too Shirley, and windy with snow on the ground. Right now it is 9 above. My supper was a chicken pot pie, some cooked beets and a piece of yellow cake with cherry pie filling on top. Iced tea to drink.

-30C here today. With wind chill it felt like -40 this morning doing chores.

We are having homemade honey oat bread with beef barley soup.

Enviroment Canada says we are to get to +2C on Tuesday, but they have been known to get it wrong lots!

It shows 38 in my atrium right now and it's been dreary and drizzle all day so it was a good day for a long nap after my scope was done, no sense wasting those good sleepy drugs.
We picked up a sandwich for lunch and I had part of it.
Tonight I am making spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic butter Texas toast. I thought I would be starving today but not really. Which is a good thing. I think it is because my throat is still not back to normal from this morning.

Stay warm! Hot chocolate sounds great!

I've been hungry for my summer garden food, craving all of my sun kissed veggies. SO, even though it's been freezing cold (teens and singles), I made a big, crunchy salad with spicy shrimp on top.

The salad had mixed greens (no iceberg), carrots, mushrooms, zucchini ribbons, tomatoes, green onions, extra baby spinach, crumbled boiled egg, cukes, and......I think that's it, lol. Made a nice, creamy tomato bacon dressing.

Some nice sounding dinners, people.

I think I'll be okay for awhile, ha.

BBQ chicken, fried rice, tenpura vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, sweet potatoes and mushrooms) with a soy/ginger dipping sauce. Should be done in about 10 minutes.

Mare: Now that's what I call a birthday present. Happy Birthday, a little late.

Marilyn: That chowder sounds good. I like that kind of thing more as I get older.

Sue: I think we're getting your weather a day later than you. Wish you would put up a block on the IN/OH border so I didn't get the bad stuff. Your meal sounds good, especially the dessert.

Rose: That meal of yours sounds like a perfect cold weather meal.

Raven: I'm glad you're up to making/eating your spaghetti meal. Is 38 a normal January temperature for you?

Rhizo: I'd gladly have that salad, even on a cold day. It sounds like a winner to me.

Angela: Everything on your table tonight would suit me just fine. I think I'd really like the vegetable combo.

we stopped at kfc (i know too many calories) but we were tired after a sam's club trip and hot chicken pot pie sounded perfect...it was perfect after we peeled of about 3 layers of clothing! lol...(se mi chill)
