A follow up to share what I learned. The Smart HDTV is now working and delivering streaming movies to our bedroom via the WiFi. The only wires to the HDTV (Vizio) is the house A/C electricity. 1) Don't change the WiFi password in a router using the WiFi interface, use a Ethernet interface. This is based on experience with 5 year old Netgear (low end) Router still 54 mb capable 802.11n? I tried and the Router ended up locked up. The password change may gone astray in any case the Router could not access the internet for connection to either the Ethernet or the WiFi. Lights on the Router showed both the Internet and WiFi okay. I replaced with a newer Netgear which supports 150 mb and has more Internet based features. 2) My Smart HDTV (all?) does provide for inputting all keyboard characters via an on-screen keyboard(s). I got in trouble because the number only input on the hand controller made me decide to change my Router password to all numbers, which I did on the new Router. Still better, much faster putting in numbers from the channel keypad than to use the "Hunt and Peck" on screen keyboard. The (my) HDTV does not have a touch screen so one has to click the pointer around the keyboard to pick out inputs. This into my view only after I entered the all numeric password and hit the "OK" - the next screen was the subject keyboard - which I no longer needed, but did need later when logging onto Netflix. The operation involves being in a data field, input any leading numbers (best) from the hand held keys then hit the "OK". An on screen keyboard then appears. If nothing more is needed, i.e., all numbers, click down to the "Enter". Side benefit: then new Router specifies Windows 8 compatibility - the old one was XP, maybe Vista qualified and some older Routers have problems with newer OS. The HDTV showing a Netflix movie had no detectible breaks (buffering?). I thought maybe that is because of the new Router, as my W8 computer had (and still has) some breaks in Netflix streaming, not sure about other services. The W8 laptop still exhibits this problem. One last start up issue on the HDTV. After logging on to my WiFi I pushed the Netflix button on my controller and Netflix started to load but failed. I started over again, it failed again. I then tried the Amazon application and it too failed. I then when into "chat" with Netflix technical support (they came on quickly) after the exchange of information on the situation on my end the support person typed, try youtube, so I did, and it come up/worked. I typed back the smart HDTV must be learning or youtube is more fault tolerant, No response, but I then tried Netflix and it worked and continues to work.

Having gone to dozens of open houses, I'm not surprised few people are able to see past the clutter, bad decorating, and awful housekeeping that many homeowners can't be bothered to change even though it would mean a faster sale or multiple offers. Yes, my husband and I look at things like drainage issues, gutters, heating systems, roof eaves, etc., and I actually will read an entire inspection report if provided. But we're by far in the minority, my RE friend says. We staged my MIL's house. Nice house, great neighborhood, but definitely on the higher end of the area. Market was slowing (May 2006) with more inventory and longer DOMs appearing. Kitchen & bathrooms were good quality, showed well, definitely turnkey but hadn't been upgraded in 20 yrs so lacked the "pro-style appliances and granite" stuff. We moved my MIL out of the house and got rid of everything; giving it away to relatives/friends and remaindering the rest through a liquidator. The rooms were painted (outside was fine); the carpet ripped out of the upstairs and the wooden floors refinished; all window coverings removed (amazing how much sun that house got, I never realized it before!); the downstairs 'bonus room' had the hideous sheet vinyl removed and flat Berber-weave neutral W2W carpet installed. We took all the advice of the RE agent and used the vendors he suggested. My MIL couldn't understand why we needed to do this. She also wanted to sell her furnishing with the house, she was absolutely sure someone would want to buy all her lovely things. My DH and I, as well as the extremely wonderful full-service agent we used, told her that no, people don't want to buy furnished houses. They particularly don't want to spend $1.1M on a classic 3bd 2ba Mediterranean full of somebody else's furniture. To the day it was sold, and maybe even now, she still doesn't understand why the buyers wouldn't have wanted her home furnishings! The stager we used kept the rooms very sparely furnished, just enough to look good. Did a beautiful job in the living room, with big overstuffed loveseat and chairs - LR was oversized compared to new construction around here - and nice large plants. The last was particularly needed since the LR also had a vaulted ceiling so one needed to keep the scale consistent. The house spent 28 DOM and got very close to asking, within $50K. Five houses came onto the market around the same time in her area: all were unstaged, 2 were taken off market after 90 DOM unsold; 3 sold after an average 69DOM with price discounts ranging from 10-18%.

Can you take a picture from the sliders to the wall across and plant wall towards dining? I think you should nail down the layout first. I agree with above, the first and last are too bulky and don't go in a livingroom. You have a lot of brown already, but the middle could work with a light rug, and lighter side chair/tables. The pros here can really help with layout so you don't cover windows and doors with furniture. From what I see now, the tv can go on wall with the plant with sofa facing... You have a pretty space to work with!

The Sling website suggests a constant speed of 5 Mbps is what's required. That may be a bit on the low side. So long as no other internet use is going on when watching TV, 10 Mbps should be more than adequate for most streams. In my experience Best Buy employees are often very confident but clueless in what they say. I'll buy from anywhere else when there's a choice, with the added benefit that by doing so I save money (even oftentimes when buying from Amazon).
