Awesome works very well if you use a microfiber cloth moistened with the product and heated in a microwave until hot.
Be sure and use rubber gloves and be sure to let the cloth cool down so you don't burn yourself.

Use a floor cleaner containing ammonia. It cuts grease and wax. Once the floor is clean, wax it to help keep it clean.

DO NOT ADD BLEACH if you use ammonia. It is a dangerous combination and could be deadly.

Yes and be sure you have the floor cleaned of the previous bleach you used before using a cleaner that contains ammonia.

I had nowhere to go and took the trailer thinking I could handle it and have discovered that I can't. That's all. I'm not "pissed," I'm horrified and worn out. Huge difference.

I'm confused, too. I feel for you. But did you not see the trailer before you got it? And since you are living there rent free with the understanding that you'd clean it up from the previous tenant, did you not expect it to be as bad as it turned out to be?

Or there might be other social service organizations that can help you.
This project does seem overwhelming for one person.

You can call him whatever you want as far as I'm concerned. My grandfather used to rent to people like that because he thought he was helping them. I have a suspicion I've seen the situation you are dealing with. I understand your frustration. You are tired and stressed. You needed a roof over your head. This was what was available.

You're here. Sit down and make yourself some coffee or tea or soft drink of your choice. Time to make a plan for going forward. This is too much to tackle at one time.

You know your personal needs. These are just my suggestions.

You're clothes and blankets were brand new. They are now covered in green stuff. They are ugly, but usable. Save them and use them. You can replace them later when this place is looking nicer and you have more money saved for your future.

Without knowing details of the trailer, we will assume there is a main living area with kitchen and living room, a bathroom and bedrooms. How many of those rooms do you personally need for living area? I'd hazard a guess that you personally only need the kitchen, bathroom, and the living room. If it were me, I would close off those other rooms including the bedrooms until you have time and energy to deal with them. Start small. I'd clean the main living area and move my bed in there where it is clean.

Other posters have given you recommendations for cleaners. I'd try those. My understanding is that bleach is more of a sanitizer than a cleaner.

Is painting part of your deal? In the main living area, I'd do a wipe down of the walls to get the easy dirt off and then a coat of Kilz to seal all of the contaminates in. You paint over that with a white or light beige/taupe. It is cleaner looking and a happier place for you.

Make your area a happier place and then clean the other rooms as you can. It doesn't need to all be tackled at one time.

Take care of yourself. I'm not sure I fully understood the part about your sister. It's not worth stressing yourself out. Your money and your resources need to go towards you and your responsibilities. That is what you need to think about right now while you are getting yourself in a better place.

Deeby, this is an enormous amount of work (my heart goes out to you) and from what it seems (correct me if I got the wrong impression) you are fixing it up so that the owner can sell it. That may turn out to be a very small amount of time, depending on how cheap he is willing to sell.
Could you buy it? If that is not an option for you, what's the next step when he announces the place is sold?

If the floor is that bad, I would consider covering over it. You can do that for fairly cheap depending on what material you pick, like laminate wood flooring.

I would also consider hiring a cleaning service that specializes in deep cleaning cases like this. Of course it would cost money but it's better than stressing yourself out and cheaper than finding somewhere else to live.

If you post some pictures, we might be able to make more suggestions on how to tackle it.

So is this house empty or is it full of hoarder garbage that you are expected to remove from it? Is the house so filthy that it's unsafe to be in such as animal excrement on the floor? There's not enough information for us to really understand why you are so frustrated other than it's really dirty and the person that lived there before you was a hoarder. To me, without more info, it sounds like there's too much to do just in exchange for rent. Imagine if they had to pay a company to come in and remove a house full of hoarder garbage and clean everything all up. I mean heck, I spend a thousand dollars just to have a repair man over for two days worth of repairs in my house!

It's like the hoarder TV show. No animal filth. Faulty scary wiring, caving floors, you name it. I have to flush out my nose with water to get the smell out. I have no money for improvements. I heaved the hoarder stuff in bedrooms so I can walk. Bleached whatever I have to touch or use. Clothes and linens not usable. They would ruin whatever they touched. In the dumpster. A friend is coming today to take all my things but necessities. Bathroom stuff, meds etc are on a clean towel on a bathroom counter. Not using cabinets. Vacuum on table so my rabbit doesn't chew the cord. When I leave the same friend can have the TV, microwave, vacuums, everything. I will move out with my Mom's ashes, family pictures, pets and their stuff, the clothes on my back and NOTHING MORE. Repeat, NOTHING. I would rather buy new than drag and carry anymore. Believe me, what I do buy will be lightweight and very little of whatever it is. I don't want dishes, nothing. Live on cans of Slim Fast and salads while I'm in this hellhole. I am getting out of here quickly and easily and nothing on God's earth will stop me.

From what you've described, it doesn't seem worth it to me to be there, just so you'll have a roof over your head. There are senior organizations, and churches,that will help you.

Didn't you post recently that you found a new job? You should be able to rent an apartment now with proof of employment, right? If you really have no money, there are programs out there to help you.

You sound exhausted. Are you bound by a contract to this trailer? You haven't mentioned whether you've tried any organization who might find you housing that accepts animals. If you attend a church, perhaps you can start by talking to someone there. Do you feel cleaning the trailer is an attempt to make a purse out of a sow's ear? Can you take a day off to regroup and think? I'm glad your friend was able to help you out.

Deeby, I believe you said that this is a mobile home. Isn't there an Agency or something that you can call and report an uninhabitable mobile home that needs to be condemned? Worth a call.

I also am having a problem following these posts, but it sounds like you will still need to move out....so why not do it NOW? If you do not have any money, how are you going to buy new things and be able to leave appliances? How could a TV, etc not still be usable? If I did not have any money, I am sure I would have found some way to use those new items instead of throwing them away.

Does this filth belong to the owner of the trailer or a former renter? I guess my problem is why did you want (and pray for) this trailer if it was in such a mess, knowing you would not be living there for an extended time? Why didn't you just move to where you are now going before?

Don't do things in haste! If you leave your belongings, you will regret it! To me it seems like you really need to stop and think about what you are doing! It's not like there's someone forcing you to get out and leave your stuff. Stuff costs a lot of money and it sounds like you don't have that to waste. You keep talking about just throwing things out...things that sound to me like they are new things. Just don't DO IT! You will regret it. If nothing else, rent a small storage room and put your stuff there. YES you will need dishes and slim fast isn't going to cut it! I just don't see your thinking as being very realistic.

Deeby had posted last summer that she was going to wait until the Fall to check into getting social security benefits based on her ex-husband's work record. I asked about that recently, and she replied that it wouldn't be worth it because she will only get $1 for every $2 she earns while she is working. Well it seems to me that if you are as hard up for money as Deeby says she is, then some SS is better than none. And I don't think her job is going to pay all that much from what she has said, so maybe not working and getting the entire SS benefit to which she's entitled would be best.

Or maybe she prefers to complain and have folks feel sorry for her. After all, lots of people have given good suggestions but she just rejects all of them.

I have to agree with Lindsey. Deeby, just a bit of tough love from an outsiders perspective. You've posted thread after thread with your struggles and troubles asking for prayers and good thoughts, and with them you've gotten a ton of good advice and suggestions. People are taking their time to try to help you and point you in the right direction and it's almost always ignored or completely disregarded with excuse after excuse why it wouldn't work. That's not to say you are obligated to take advice, but it gets really frustrating to see so many good suggestions offered and you keep dismissing them in favor of doing your own thing, which is fine but it seems like you are completely miserable still.

I feel like you may be the type of person who waits for things to happen for you instead of pursuing them yourself. Prayers are great but let's get real here - you need to help yourself. There is no reason to live like this, you don't have to give up your pets, there are programs out there that will help you if you have no money or food. That is what they are there for, and what you've been paying taxes your entire life for.

I get that you are overwhelmed, and fed up, and maybe depressed. It probably seems like things are hopeless right now but they are not. Chin up - don't get rid of your stuff (that sounds like an emotional decision and makes no financial sense at all), be humble and re-read through your previous threads to what people have advised and figure it out.

No one else is going to do it for you. You are smart enough to do this. You have a new job, you have the ability to go to church again per your latest update. You can rebuild your life up to where you want it but you have to try. You have to put in the effort, and make decisions with your head instead of your emotions. Don't automatically reject options because it seems too hard or you don't think it will work. Make it work. Good luck!

You prayed for this opportunity and your prayer was answered. Might be time to revisit why you needed this so badly and compare that to what is going on now. From what I recall, you were losing the roof over your head, your job and no place for you and your pets to live. You got a job and the place you wanted. Maybe not all you expected, but better than being homeless. Maybe it's time to look at what IS positive in your life.

Whenever I have been faced with a difficult situation, I remind myself "It is for now, not forever".

I've been thinking the same thing after reading all of the posts. To expand on Lucille's post,

The whole thing is a confusing story that really doesn't make much sense at all to me. No money but is just throwing things away like money is no object? I have to say that I just don't get it!

There are all sorts of reasons that things don't add up, sometimes, people are stressed, sometimes they have mental health issues.

It was several new dishtowels. It's not bulbs, it's wiring. Some fixtures are out, some wiring is weird and I was told not to use those plugs.
OK, new twist-the owner came today with his cousin who has convinced him to clear the trailer and sell it. She even said it won't sell with this filthy carpet. HUH???? I was supposed to stay until mid March. So now what...
She is coming to clear the hoarded stuff out. Renting a dumpster. I feel like saying, "Whatever... !"

No need to leave in a huff Deeby. There are a lot of people here that are offering suggestions for you. You must admit there are some strange things about some of your posts. When things don't add up quite right I think it's pretty normal for people to wonder.
