My daughter and her husband got a king bed so she gave her homemade queen sized headboard to her brother and his wife.
They live 200 mile away but came to visit a few days after Christmas. I took my DIL to the upholstery store to pick out some fabric and we recovered it.

The wood is the star of the show now, but would look great instead as an accent to that beautiful bed. Tape up pieces of white poster board the same size as the Angelina. I think you will find that the wood shows as a beautiful accent without dominating the look, especially because it will show through the metal slots. It is a really brilliant choice that not many would have thought of.

If anything, suggest three, but sizes and placement are key. Try cutting out kraft paper and tape to wall to see what you think. I hope you don’t mind some additional comments, as I find everything is too matching and believe breaking up the hot pink will be more interesting/less harsh. Suggest the art contains other colors and pretty shapes, replace one set of shams and consider a floral injection. I’d replace the lamp shade, as its shape is not great with the base and also feels too much. If you create a softer look, it will feel warmer. Hope this helps.

I think I need to see the space in jpeg so I can enlarge it. I see no night stands and honestly what are the other items in the space like flooring , bedding all imporatnt The dresser . Dose it match the night stands ? Please ditch the word art .

That is just gorgeous. What a neat project. I really like the fabric that you used and to he piping that you made with it. That looks 100% professional. Did you treat the fabric after you got it made? I always worry about fabric headboard's getting grind me from people leaning against them. It would probably take years, but I would hate to see such a pretty headboard start to look dull.

Rose, very pretty. Would you come and visit me....I have fabric to recover a very simple chair, seat and back rest only, wooden exposed arms and legs - for two years now.

I did it once before several years ago, cannot make myself begin for some reason.

You do very nice work. Love the headboard.

Flamingo we didn't Scotchgard it, probably should have.
Morza if you live where it is warm I will consider it. :)
Actually the worst part for me is taking out the old staples and I had my son do that. I also have an electric stapler to attach the new fabric. My hand can't use a manual one anymore.
