Depressing Start

The year ended with one excellent news, then got slammed down. Suspicious medical results had me off to see a specialist. At least the guy is fast. First visit, and in less than 90 minutes, was in the lab drawing oddles of vials, taken in for a CT scan, and into the 'room' to obtain a bone marrow sample. Ouch. Settle down for a week, and go back for results.
Happy New Year ...... you have a rare blood disorder. I was successful dealing with a cancer the past 3 years, and, now this? (The two are not related.) A 2nd opinion confirmed the results. Searching for answers is nothing but baffling, confusing and depressing. There are no active on line forums to talk to anyone with this condition. Medical terminology is useless. There has to be somebody, somewhere to talk to. While new to the game, it's looking tough to figure out which way to turn and put up a fight against impossible odds. In the other direction is the dreaded "Don't Give A Damn" hole, which is the wrong place to be. Whatever happens, I hope information along the way is available to researchers, and may somehow be beneficial to future patients. Don't kick me off the table yet, this is a good place to become distracted and come up with some sly contributions.
