Kindle question

I have over 2000 books (most were free), and have read 500-600 of them over the course of the past several years.

What is the best way to handle the books I've already read? Do I need to go to Amazon.com and delete them from my library? It that the smartest thing to do?

My problem is that I don't easily remember the titles or covers of the books I've already read, so it's not uncommon for me to open a book and get through a few chapters before I realize I've already read it!
