Well now, this should be interesting

DH has been pretty much confined to the house since he had foot surgery last Friday. He must be desperate to get away from these four walls (and me). He can drive, but walking is an issue. So he just left here on his way to do some shopping with the help of my handicapped scooter at (of all places) Walmart! I can hardly wait to hear all the stories he will have when he gets home.

Be sure to have your camera ready when the paramedics take him away. Then you can do one of those, "I told you so!"

If you collect thimbells, they would look nice highlighted under the glass. At christmas you could display some of the tiny wooden ornaments from germany that comes in to TJMAX and Marshalls around Oct, Nov. For a girly look, you could display a nice bracelet opened up under it on top of your bedroom dresser, even a few lovely rings lined up would be pretty. Collection of broaches, (cut a strip of velvet for the jewerly to lay on)...Basically anything tiny can be highlighted under glass...

Gibson Freezer- should she stay or should she go now....

Gibson fv21m2 upright freezer. She's pushing 30 now to our best guess. Here's the thing. It works well, but we are in the process of doing some remodeling in its home. I've noticed that the sides get very warm to the touch. Pulling it out from the wall and touching the compressor, it is hot. Are these concerns or signs that the end is near? Is it necessary, possible or expensive to service this and worthwhile? Or do we replace it and if so- with what? We went and replaced our 20+ y/o refrigerator for a new one a few years back- thinking all the way, they don't make them like they used to.

Tracie it is all stacked millwork and I am sure there is a better way of measuring than i have but here is what I have come up with. Ok Baseboards are a total of 7inches with a large 5" in middle with a 1"cap on top and 1"cap on bottom. doors are 4 1/4" total made up with a 3" flat board and a 1 1/4" trim around it. windows are a total of 4 3/4' With three pieces. Middle is 3 1/4"; outer trim is 1" and inner trim is 1/2" crown molding is small at 2". Hope that helps good luck molding really makes a difference. I wish ours was more substantial at times.

Oh good. I love purple and b&w too. Not sure how dark you are considering, but I once painted my 15x9 office a medium-dark purple (inspired by a magazine photo of an elegant dining room). As I was painting around the narrow end of the room the walls began to feel like they were moving in on m It was horrible! So back to the paint store for a lavender that hinted at periwinkle. So one option is lavender paint on top and dark purple rugs. FWIW, Kelly Moore lets you order 8x10 color samples, but you need to get the special form to fax in and then they mail them to you. I wonder if other companies do that too. ??? Good luck. Can't wait to see it.

houstonmom, yes, I know he was desperate to get out. Shopping he does without complaint, but agreeing to using the scooter to do it really shocked me. We were out of Blue Bunny ice cream so off he went.

I expected him to come home ranting and raving about rude/inconsiderate Walmart customers. It is not easy shopping from a scooter and Walmart seems to me to be worse than any where else. He did complain about how difficult it is to get anything out of the freezers that are upright with doors. However he did say that help was offered by a couple customers and the check out girl loaded his bags into the scooter basket for him.

All in all, he learned what I am up against when shopping.

Lol ole joyful, first time I ever used one I wiped out a standing display in the jewelry section of Walmart, earring and bracelet sounds rang through the store lol. I just "scooted away" .]

The only way my husband would come home and not complain would be if the helpful customers and check-out clerk were good looking women.

Well, it sounds like a positive experience to me. DH got out of the house, he learned that people can be very nice and most importantly he now has a better understanding of what life is like for you. That can only be a good thing.

Sounds like a win on all counts!

It is good to put one's self into another's shoes ... perhaps especially if those shoes are riding on a scooter!

Plus ...especially if one shares space/life with one who has to cope with that a good deal/most/all of the time!

Good life lesson learned ... well, partly, at least ... today!
