Videos are selected to be age-appropriate, curriculum-based, engaging and visually stimulating. And the good part is the app provides a safe, child-friendly viewing experience free of advertising and inappropriate content. Brainfeed will launch on the App Store in February 2014. Thanks Caroline I brought my iPod over to the laptop so I can add some non-games that I use. Utilities Apzilla 2 has all sorts of different utilities, most of them are worthwhile. Some you might never use. Even though Apzilla has it I also have MyLite (a flashlight) and a Free Level program. (a level for hanging pictures straight)and Free Space, a program that tells you how much room is left on your iPod and battery info. Capacity is another program that does this. Free Wi-Fi tells you when you travel where there is free wi-fi you can log into. 5-0 Radio Pro is a fun Police and Fire scanner so you can listen for any calls that come out in your city or even places in your country. My hearing isn't the best and sometimes the talking isn't too clear for me but it is fun listening to the information. It can run in the background. Shopwise is a program that tells you certain deals. I have World Atlas and Google Earth. Book Crawler is a program that lets you keep track of all of your books. iPlant is a gardening book that is quite good. For notes I use Awesome Notes. MyStuff2 is a neat inventory program I haven't used yet. I use IOwn and Iconic Notes, but I don't think either of those are available now. Someday I will transfer everything over. Ian's Laces as Caroline mentioned is fun but there also is a program called Tie a Scarf for women' scarves. Holiday List is also a great Christmas gift planner. AppSniper and AppShopper are two programs I use occasionally. They tell you the new programs that are out. A lot of programs are free for a short time before they start to charge and these programs as well as others will let you know this. I have a lot of medical programs and photography programs as well but this thread is getting long.

Yes, so do I.....but you are giving this app permission to use the camera that came with your phone to take pictures & videos......it can do this any time it wants & it does not have to let you know..... I was pointing out the permissions as just something to be aware of.....all apps have different levels of permissions & its always a good idea to read through them..... Glad to hear that you are enjoying the free calling..... It sure beats a long distance bill.... ; )) Kanooka

bob_cville, I like your suggestion but the people who are so radically dependent upon their phones won't care about a $5 surcharge. Now if you suspend their phone service for a day or two or a week or two, THAT would be a punishment! As for the reliance on a phone as a makeshift GPS unit, whenever someone is coming to my place I give them directions. How often I hear "I have GPS!!!" when they don't. They have a nav app on their phone and no folks, that's NOT a GPS! At least 4 out of 5 times when people use a phone app to find my place they'll wind up miles away from me and I get very frustrated, nay, angry when people call up with "Where are you?? I'm at _____." Well you're miles away because you wouldn't follow simple directions. Many times I tell them to go back home and try another day. I really don't like waiting for hours because of peoples stubbornness. Yes there are other distractions but cell phones and texting have been proven over and over to be far worse than listening to a radio or something. Phones have a place and a use. But the problem we have is people misuse things all the time. Then you wind up with people wanting to ban all of them because a few misuse them. The argument is often the same, there wouldn't be any deaths if it wasn't for _____! (Insert your choice of items here.) The sad fact is that the innocent have to suffer because of the idiots out there.
