Staying inside and staying warm. We have a wind advisory. That wind is making it so bitterly cold. I will probably be doing some crafting today.

Staying in, will make a cake, keep warm, play on my IPad. Had to cancel foot dr. Appt, because of snow and wind.

Going to work, whether I want to or not. It's an all day thing.......

Sheets this morning, then whatever housework I can fit in while watching the clock - hair appointment this afternoon and its cut and color so I'll there about an hour and a half. Then I'll see what paperwork I can get done before dinner, my office is messy enough again that DH mentioned it, that's rare for him :(

My GF and I are going to go shopping, not sure where and out to lunch. I was out for five hours yesterday, taking my knitting class, ate a quick lunch, a quick look through Chico's and then off for a facial;) I usually never plan to go out 2 days in a row~~I am really a lazy person;)

Today I am cleaning out my downstairs bathroom closet, did the upstairs one yesterday. A lot of very old HBA items to toss.
I don't plan on going outside except to get the mail from the box across the road and this evening to the bereavement group at church. Only about 2miles away, so not a bad drive.
Very cold and snowing a little here in NW Pennsylvania.

Well, I know I am going to stay in today.......it was -35ú and has "risen" to only -27ú!! And that is actual temp, not wind chill. I think I will do some sewing for our church quilting today.

I was going to go get my hair cut but decided against it, 5 degrees out with wind chill making it -7. I'll trim my hair later and get it cut by a professional when it warms up.

Plus my right arm up to my neck is hurting. I think from having to turn and pull up two very large men the other day at work. One had to be cleaned up 6 or 7 times. Just took a couple Tylenol. I hate taking them because they make me sleepy and I have so much to do today around the house.

Doing laundry and going to start moving my stuff out of the living room. I have a huge wall unit that needs moved and it's full of stuff, pictures (in albums and lots not), movies (which I moved last week), David Winter Cottages, important papers, etc... I'm going to pull up the carpet in the whole house, starting in the living room and put down other flooring.

Also have to make something for my lunch over the next 3 days. I'm dreading work tomorrow, not just the drive but the awful freezing cold walk to work from the parking lot.

When I got up the ambient temp was -23, windchill of -32, so I decided it would be a good day to run the self-cleaning feature of the oven.

I get a toasty warm kitchen and clean oven with the minimum of work!

I made the bed, put in a load of laundry, did a Swish-and-Swipe of the bathroom, cleaned the TV and computer screens and then checked the email. It's Thursday so I'll do an hour's work at the paperwork/mess of my desk this afternoon.

I've not been able to declutter/clean/enjoy/and sew in my dedicated sewing room because I won't let the dogs go in there. I have to keep the door shut.

If I go in to "work," the dogs dig at my white woodwork. Harry especially; he has to be able to "see" me at all times.

I had a light-bulb moment during my Thanksgiving cooking melt-down - extra tall "Dog Gates!"

I ordered a 42" tall white gate to go in the doorway to the sewing room. Now I can leave the door open and share the beautiful light with the rest of the house. I can work on purging and cleaning while the dogs "watch" from the hallway. They are my little inmates staring through the bars, LOL! It's easy to open and close the main door, if needed, with the gate still in place.

I also ordered a brown gate, same size, to fit between the mudroom and kitchen. After my hands rest up from installing the first gate, I'll get the mudroom gate installed. Now, when I have heavy duty cooking to do the dogs can be comfortable confined to the mudroom! I keep a kennel cage in there, too.

Life for me just got a bit easier!

I am staying in until afternoon. This morning's windchill was -30 something. I soaked black beans overnight and will make soup today. I would like to get to the library this afternoon and check out some children's books that are written in Spanish.

Not a lot, just this and that. It is mostly sunny but still very cold. Roads have been cleared but I don't have any reason to go out today.

I found some blueberries in the freezer so I'm going to make a cobbler. That will brighten up my day.

Beginning to warm up here in ND up to 9 above. Went to foot care this morning then lunch. I hate grouchy old people!!!Wish they would stay home. Guess that is why I don't join certain people at the lunch table much any more. Will take GGD to dance lessons today. That is fun and it is nice to be around the young people instead of the old grochies!!!!!

I was thinking of you, Marilyn Sue, when I saw the TV news of the huge truck pile-up in Lake County, Indianna. I know you are south of that, but it made me wonder if you ever got your new washer/dryer.

I've had to dig out some old sweats to keep warm. We woke to nice, steady rain yesterday morning, and it's cool and dry today -- 76F with 50% humidity. Morning TV today showed some of the high surf here in Hawaii (north shores of all the islands), but we're merely 'cool' with light wind. The ocean IS active though, and I suspect some beaches will be smaller soon.

I wish our new king mattress would come before Feb. 11. We are getting grouchy. (Everything takes longer to get to Maui!) The day after we ordered from Sears here came the announcement about Sears closing its' State Street store in Chicago. That Lampert guy is a disaster!

Today I went to work as a substitute teacher at my old school. I just retired last June. I feel so lucky to have a profession that I can pursue even when retired. I am enjoying the subbing- the kids- some former students- are glad to see and greet me warmly and behave because they know me. I swear they behave better than when they were in my class. Another benefit is the opportunity to see and support my colleagues. The greatest is the opportunity to focus on teaching the children- no data collecting or entering , emails to answer, essays to grade, lessons to plan, meetings to attend.

I went to work, and after, I cut my hair... with the vacuum cutting thingy... :)

Chisue, yes I did get my new Maytag washer and dryer. I really like them even though they are a mid range set. It makes it so handy having a set upstairs and one down. Waiting for more snow and cold weather still. I saw that pile up on the news, terrible.

Moni, that looks good. Do you use one of those flo-bee things? My XH used one of those and we used to tease him about it. His result was nowhere as good as yours. You're adorable.

I slept until 8:00. That felt good. Did this and that around the house for awhile then showered and washed my hair. I need a cut, but not with a flo-bee.

Talked on the phone with my good friend for about an hour. Then I had lunch and headed of to Lowe's to return some Christmas lights. They told me it was too late for Christmas stuff, but then they took them anyway. Thanks, Lowes!

I bought some stain for the portion of the floor that I have been refinishing. I also bought a window blind that I plan to cut up and tape to my garage door windows.

From there I was off to Whole Foods. It is a newer store and really gorgeous. I made a salad for dinner and a bunch of other purchases, too. It is easy to ring up a big bill quickly in that place.

Home by 4:30 and I've just been fooling around on my laptop since then. That's it for me!

Riverhouse, that is what all the "retired" teachers who sub say..they just think it's the best of both worlds..

Yep, Deadtired, it is one of those flowbee kind of things... mine is called robocut. My flowbee died years ago, and I got the robocut last year.

Way better than when I do it just with scissors. With scissors I get to many places shorter than I want. :)

Glad you have your laundry set, Marilyn Sue. DH and I are sure grateful not to be at home. At first we thought the TV announcer said the accident was in Lake County, Illinois (where we live). Sorry it happened *anywhere*. I don't even want to think about being injured and stuck out there in the cold.

We finished watching "Argo" for our Teatime Matinee this afternoon. My heart is still in my throat!
