Creeping weight gain
Comments (12)I'm not so sure about the fruit juices recommendation in a previous posting. They contain a lot of sugar. Better to eat fruit, becuae it takes longer to ingest and contains fiber and fills you up more. A few other recommendations: -Get used to whole grains -- bread, pasta and rice. They have improved them so they are easy to prepare and are very tasty. They are more filling and satisfying that refined products. - If you eat a lot of processed food, start reading the labels. If there are more than 4 or 5 ingredients, don't eat it. - Try ot avoid or cut down on sugar. Get a cheap paperback that lists the sugar content in all foods. You'll be surprised. Sugar is all over the place. - Stay away from butter and whole milk products. Use skim milk, or low fat milk. If you like cheese, eat it in moderation, and try to select hard cheese, because harder ones have less fat. Try to use only fats that are liquid at room temperature, like olive oil, canola oil, corn oil. Your heart and arteries will thank you. - Eat white meat of chicken, and avoid the skin, which is nearly all fat. Lean cuts of beef and pork are okay, as well as nearly all fish. - Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you have good, healthful eating habits, and you exercise regularly, the weight will take care of itself....See MoreWhat do you know about the blood-type diet?
Comments (13)I don't believe it based on the blood type. I think as soon as you start avoiding certain foods anyone of any blood type is going to lose weight. I went on a one month milk avoidance diet one time to see if I was allergic to milk. I had to avoid so many of my regular foods that I lost weight. I suspect it's that change in calories from what one normally eats that affects the weight loss. I also think genetics would have an affect. Our genes are both dominant and recessive. We get so many different variations from our ancestors. My parents are A+ and O+ blood types. I am A+ and my husband is B+. My children are B+, O+, and B-. I'll base this off of my children's blood types since I know three generations of blood type for them. None of my children are A+ like I am, but I would think that they had some of my characteristics....See MoreVinegar diet

Comments (31)I have a somewhat funny experience as a student in college I was underweight..to the point the doctor in uni clinic was alarmed and set me an appointment with a nutritionist She was a really nice lady, listening carefully and trying to come up with something tailored to me but a) there was no way I could afford back then any of her healthy suggestions:) Avocado, and cream cheese, and all sorts of nuts, and..I couldn't afford them not then not for several years after lol. So it was really amusing..I explained it to her and she really tried to be inventive, but. (I could afford doctors though-everything like this was covered by insurance)) b) it took them another 20 years to figure out I was born with celiac disease. which kinda played a big role in how much I weighted. Granted I wasn't eating much back then too, in fact I was permanently hungry-yet that was a huge piece of very important info they had no knowledge of. So. I'd say it matters less whether nutrionist or not..but that person should really know a lot about unique circumstances of youd DH, interplay of things big and small..he should be good in tying different pieces of the puzzle together. It can be simple, a diet thing-or it can be not as simple as it sounds.Or it can be downright complicated. In such matters, there's no one size fits all. I'm on a whole bunch of diets now because I can't tolerate tons of stuff-and some, I already know the reasons for it, and some, I've no idea why, but I just can't eat them no more. But I feel immediate consequences-thus much easier to adhere to diets. if I deviate-my punishment is right there when one doesn't see immediate feedback, whether good or bad, it's obviously harder to adhere to diets. So if one can have choice between several approaches-makes sense to find the one he'll stick with....See MoreAdella Bedella
