The title could've been more like "Where is it you live again?". The bit is more like "Who's on first?". She could've been from North, South Dakota and it would've had the same outcome. I love it when the guy hands him a pen at the end.

"Amazing garden Juan, looks really awesome." I am glad you like it Linval. Sadly I have a feeling the citrus trees will eventually succumb to the yellow dragon disease. You can see one of the tangelos is kind of struggling. In one of incredible ironies I have found it easier to grow apples in Central Florida rather than citrus. All you need to do is make sure the apple tree is grafted onto M-111 root stock and that it can tolerate the high heat in your USDA zone. As it turns out most apples don't really require a whole lot of chill hours and many can adapt to our climate. I have found the varieties that were developed in Australia and New Zealand to be good choices for us here because they can tolerate the heat. Apart from fireblight which is always a concern for any tree on the rose family you also have to worry about fungus and diseases because of our humidity. So picking a russetted apple that is resistant to fungal diseases and scab is a good choice. The Arkansas Black and King David apple trees derived from it supposedly generate their own natural waxy coating that protects the apples from fungal diseases. Cheers.

Miss Lilacs, I certainly never intended to exclude anyone from the club based on age, interest, or location. I do realize that there are clubs composed exclusively of elderly ladies, and that fills an important niche for them, but I'm looking to fill a different niche, that of the average homeowner that works during the day, is busy with kids, and needs a horticultural resource that can help him/her with a boring landscape, or just wants to get started in gardening. I expect and look forward to quite a few elderly members. Age = experience! Crocheting may not be the focus of the club, but I would be surprised if you were the only member to have that hobby. As far as where you live, I specified a local region just so people wouldn't have to drive far to attend a meeting. I don't want to travel all the way to the Botanical Garden for a meeting because it's inconvenient. There is room in the Denver area to support many garden clubs. I just think each area needs its own simply for convenience. If a club formed in your area, I am sure you could arrange a ride from another member. We had several such arrangements in our Illinois club, and some of those elderly crocheters were fantastic gardeners! Keep watch for more information. If this new club is successful, you may still be able to join and hitch a ride with someone. Congratulations for escaping Illinois. I lived there my whole life and could hardly stand it. I have an 8yr old solid black cat named Shadow. He just loves the garden I'm currently creating. Keep in touch.

I've seen that before but I laughed just as hard this time as I did the first time. Bill Cosby is wonderful. Too bad today's comedian aren't actually funny. The old guys knew comedy!

I could see and hear it.

Because all of my family, excluding my DM and myself, were born, raised and grew up in South Carolina, I understood everything the dear lady was saying.

"Not very smart?" Although innocently, she outsmarted Bill Cosby.

I loved it.

I understood every word she said..and she was smart enough to out smart Bill Cosby...Snidely just because she was talking in circles doesn't make her dumb...bless your heart...

The whole exchange may have been scripted and if not, it was more than discussed in advance. Cosby didn't miss the opportunity to show his (northern and black) contempt for what may have been a too stereotypical bumbling southern white woman. Rightfully so, and if y'all don't see that, bless your heart.
