I can't get out; roads are bad. So far I haven't heard the closings, but I expect it is pretty much everything.

Had to cancel and reschedule my CT Scan for today.

It's about 6 degrees here in Rhode Island with six inches of fresh snow.

It's currently -24C or -11F. Bitterly cold but sunny.
We haven't had any fresh snow for the past few days, just cold, and it's to last the remainder of the week.

It's currently 13 degrees in northwestern Virginia--heading for a high of 15 degrees today. Much colder than usual for this area.

We had about 8" of snow yesterday. It is beautiful...like living in a winter wonderland. I'm just thankful that the house is warm and I have nowhere I have to go.

South central PA checking in. We only got about 2" or so of snow yesterday so dodged the bullet on that one. It was zero here this morning at 7 a.m.

It was about 3 or 4 below zero early this morning. My thermometer is reading 8 above now, with a high of 14. They're calling for snow later on. But the sun is shining brightly now. If only it was as warm outside as it looks like it would be................

It was 3F when I got up but we have warmed up to 9F now. Of course with the wind chill it is -15F.

We had 15 inches of snow yesterday. I shoveled twice during the storm so I'd have less to deal with this morning. A neighbor went by with a snow blower so the sidewalk is done.

North central Ohio right now is 4ð with a wind chill of -6ð. The sun isn't very bright. I'm staying in most of the day. We didn't get any snow yesterday. We are supposed to have a high of 14ð with 1-2 inches of snow tonight. I am about a couple hours north of Gadgets.

Was 11 degrees here in Fayetteville, GA with a real feel of 3. It's now up to 22 with a real feel of 15. Tooooo cold for me. At least the horrible wind has died down.

It's was -7 around 9:00 am, now 8 degrees. I'm glad I don't have to work today. I'm in Central KY.

Southern California mid 70's almost everyday~~I even had my bedroom slider open til about 12 last night. It is nice weather, but the news is we are in for the worst drought season since the 80's. And that means lots of fires;(

It went to 2 below with minus 22 windchill, and now it's 10 but the sun might be on the thermometer (in PA).These weather extremes are unsettling. I'm really fearing the summer. Australia has had 112 temps.

Here in beautiful downtown Ames, Iowa, it is around 10. No wind at the moment. We have a cold weather warning in effect from 6 p.m. tonight until noon tomorrow. Iowans are tough and we don't let the cold keep us indoors. Tonight is fellowship soup supper at church and I will run out to do some errands today. As a California transplant 8 years ago,I would rather be in Iowa in the cold than to be in CA with the drought and fires.

We have twenty inches of snow and a chilly 18 degrees here south of Boston. The sun is out and the snow is blinding. My clever husband used the leaf blower to remove the snow from the cars and roofs.

Here in SW. Pa., we're up to about 2 with lots of sun...And checking the forecast, doesn't look like a heat wave headed this way in the near future....
I have a flight scheduled for Ft. Myers on Sat. but might have to cancel or reschedule because of a nasty head cold...It seems, I'm not supposed to leave this lovely weather..........

At 1:00 pm it's only 40 degrees here. Sure feel for the tourists who spent a lot of money to come here to get away from the cold!

Here in North Houston today it is bright sunshine with blue skies and a temp of 57 and a light breeze, yesterday it was blowing so hard I had to take my wind chimes down I was afraid they would end up in the Gulf. However we are supposed to get some colder temps in the next couple of days and dip into the freezing zone.
I could never handle the weather in the snow and cold, you are all such brave souls!!

Will be sunny and in the low 70's here in Nor Cal. As Yogalady said, we will have the worst drought since the 80's. This will be a scary year.

Sun out, no wind, no clouds a bit new snow, and a minus 8 below. Yes I am glad I live in ND instead of CA because were we lived before was a high fire zone in the mountains. Also even with all the growing problems we are blessed with the Baken Oil and in the most part the Oil people both local and from other areas have been great working with the locals

It's cooler than usual down here in Ft Lauderdale, but I'm not complaining about 60 degrees! If I was at home in Maryland, I think it would be closer to 16.

Here in Fort Dodge, IA it is windy, fairly cloudy with a temperature of 2F and chill factor of -8F. I respect the people who live here and their ability to deal with this weather. We can have really cold weather and disastrous blizzards down home, but not quite the extended periods of cold the northern part of the US sees every winter!

DH is on a project here and he finishes up Friday. We'll be leaving to get him moved over to Peoria, IL Saturday morning for another project. Seems they received 4" of snow night before last. As for me, I'll be headed back to the Texas Panhandle where it has been in the 50's and 60's the last couple of weeks. Maybe my feet will get warm again!

How cold is it? Too d@mn cold!

North central Missouri here - its up to about 25 at noon, but due to have the bottom drop out of the thermometer tonight, down to below zero. I'm very tired of it.

When I was a kid growing up in northern Iowa I used to tell myself when I was an adult I would live one state further south. Well, I AM one state further south now, but I've decided that's not far enough!!

Here in Williamsburg, Va. it's 23 but wind chill factor has it much colder. We only got 2 - 3" snow last night but underneath it's very icy. I had a hair appointment today but cancelledâ¦.roads are really nasty. Also had to cancel my movie group and dinner for 13 tonight. Everyone was happy that I did. Restaurant is usually open for lunch but wasn't opening until 4:00 today and was very understanding about my cancellation.

I live in Toronto and am absolutely freezing and tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. The dog won't do his business and keeps asking me to take him out. I have a bad cold and he gets worried when I cough. I have had it with winter. Actually I like it hot with no sun, and when I mean hot I mean 30 C. (I burn easily.) I am going to call to make sure our monthly budgeted natural gas payments are increased so that we won't owe a fortune in June - I have the heat pumping.

had to do laundry and about froze while folding clothes! completely forgot the darn grate in the floor! just covered it with an old folded towel! then sat the rug shampooer on top!
and trying to keep up with vac'ing by the front door! omg! we've tracked in salt! was bare-footed and it was like walking on tiny rocks!.
just hope dh gets home before the next batch of snow starts!

It's a warm, sunny 72 degrees here in Tucson, AZ. The wildflowers are already blooming due to the rains in the Fall and the unusually warm temps now. We were out shopping most of the morning. I truly do feel for all of you who are having to endure this horrible weather, especially those who have to be out in it. I hope it will be over soon!

We were miserable in unheated places in Florida a couple of times over DS's Christmas holidays. (Better to stay home where we can keep warm indoors.) Friends were cold in the Bahamas. We learned to go *farther* south, to the Virgin Islands or a Caribbean island or a cruise.

Once we 'discovered' Hawaii, we've spent two to four weeks out of the Chicagoland winters. After DH retired, we bought a small condo in South Maui and now spend two months here.

We were delighted to hear rain again very early this morning. It's about over for now at nearly noon; temp is 78F. The island has been in drought for *years*, but the resorts irrigate so they always look green. Right now even the lowland pastures are green. Maybe there will be no brush fires in West Maui, where the single legal access road gets closed until the fire is struck.

The snow in the Midwest and East will melt. Nothing is stopping the water shortages and drought across California and Texas. We should be prepared to pay more for our fruit and veggies soon.

No new snow here in northern NY, but it was 26 below zero this morning and I don't think it reached zero today.

My (barn() cat enjoys my bringing her heated water in a mug, each morning, that partly melts the water that I'd left the day before. I have two dishes for her water, and sometimes bring one inside till the next day.

Built her a hidey-hole of several bales of straw, a few years ago ... think that \I'd better check it, what with this cold weather.

Bought bananas after bible study, today ... brought them into the library, as don't want to have friz bananas to start the day for the next while!

here in NW Kentucky along the Ohio River, we did not get any snow like other parts of KY did but it is very cold. A wind chill advisory is in effect tonight and tomorrow morning. I went to work as usual!

I live in Southwestern Ontario and at 7:40 this morning, my thermometer said -29.2C which converts to -20.6F so that's a bit chilly. It took almost 30 minutes to warm my car up for the short drive to work but it truly was too cold to walk. I got home from work at 1 pm, went out about an hour later and the entire back window of my car had "blown".

It has been very warm here this past two weeks or so with low 80s as our daily highs. Nights are in the 40s. I like the warm afternoons since we have had the grandsons visiting and they could play in the yard and be comfortable, but it has been almost uncomfortable some days. Today it cooled down because of the cloud cover.

I wonder how bad spring flooding will be back east with all that snow that has accumulated.

It is beyond cold here in Iowa tonight. Expect wind chill temps of -25 to -35. Des Moines cancelled school tomorrow. Here and other areas have a 2 hour delay for the start of school.

It was 2 F below zero at 10 pm tonight and the wind was increasing. WOW! That wind had a bite.

Earlier today, i chanced to look out across an open field and spied "snow devils". Warmer places have dust devils; Here in Wisconsin, we have snow devils. LOL

Tomorrow's prediction is for a wind chill of -30 F. I plan to hibernate.

10 degrees here this morning in Colorado Springs and it's snowing. We've got a couple of inches as of now.

I really really hate driving to work in the snow. Hate driving home in the dark after work even more when the roads refreeze and it's icy.

We must be experiencing global warming here in Virginia, because the temperature is expected to quadruple in the next few hours...from the current 6 degrees to 24 degrees! Thanks, Al Gore!!

I just looked at the forecast for Illinois. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week will be even worse!!!

What a difference a day makes. Nothing like the horrible cold some have but today in North Houston it is a cold rainy gloomy dreary day. With the wind back it is just no fun out. Temp is currently 51 but is scheduled to drop significantly by tomorrow night. So on a down hill trend. Supposed to continue with the rain tomorrow and they did mention possibility of ice and a dusting of ice and snow. Hopefully that will not happen.

Well I can't believe it but there's snow flakes falling from the Texas sky! Not much but any at all is surprising.
Currently my own thermometer says 35 in the atrium.
Dropping temps till Saturday is forecasted.

I feel so sorry for all you folks who are supposed to be in a milder climate than Iowa. What a bummer. We moan and groan but it's all in a day's work.

I have geothermal heat and I had to kick it up to 70ð yesterday just to keep the house at 68. My house is 140 years old so not real tight but it's been well maintained so it's not like the wind blows the curtains! Getting dressed for my trips to the barn take as much time as the chores once I get there! If it gets above zero tomorrow I plan to go to town for groceries. If not, eat out of the freezer and cupboard. No end in sight. I suppose July will pay us back.

I don't know how you can live in those cold climates! i have been freezing all day. It was 55 when I got out of bed this morning at 7 a.m. I had a delivery coming at 8:30 a.m. or I might have just stayed under the blankets. It warmed up to 71 around noon but I was still chilled and at 4 p.m. my DH checked the thermometer outside and it was 59. I have had on a long sleeve shirt and long pants and fuzzy sox on all day. It's usually in the 80s here and I wear a tank top and shorts. It's supposed to be 59 tonight. I know you scoff and think that is just a lovely spring day for you!

We have had high winds and enormous waves~ 40 to 50 feet!

My grandson sent a picture from Dartmouth College today He grew up in south Florida so snow is a new experience for him.

It's too damned cold in Panama City, Florida - 42 here right now - 30 degrees this morning, here on the beach.

The local weather man said we would see 'ice crystals' this evening. The next two days are going to be in the 60's and 40's, then down in the freezer again next Tues. and Wed.

I bet the surfers are drooling over those waves.

Today in North Houston it is currently 32 degrees. Sky is heavy over cast and it is supposed to be rainy and icy but it is clear now.
Yesterday we did have some flakes falling and the ice got pretty close to here but stopped before it reached us thankfully. It did freeze though.

Smilin54, like you I live in Southwestern Ontario. I must say, I've never heard of the cold blowing out a car window!

Yesterday the sewer/water pipes broke on our street and the city work crews were at work first thing in the morning. They had the water shut off on the whole street, and late afternoon they came to tell us that they can't find the problem, and they don't know how long the water will be off.

We went to bed and they were still working, AND were still there at 7 this morning, then they got it working.

They worked their tails off all day and thru the nite, and it was cold!
