Sure the "average person" consumes that much, but I bet I am more like 3,000 pounds of sugar consumption kind of person!

Bread aisle of the grocery store, which is why I never go down that aisle. I'm somewhat shocked that so many people go down every aisle in the grocery store. I certainly never go down the pet supply aisle, and I tend to shop the periphery of the grocery store, unless there is a specific aisle that I need to visit. I do tend to go down every (small) aisle in the Lebanese market, however, but that is a very small store and has a lot of unusual items that I might know that I need. I try not to go down every aisle in Trader Joe's for the same reason, but there are only four, and so it is difficult not to.

So many what ifs in this. If one includes China or Africa - the answer could be much different from us in the western hemisphere.

My guess (figuring consumes as uses): toilet paper..

Ok, I was discussing todays quiz with DH. His guess was spiders! Yup!

But I do know they say one swallows up to a half dozen or so a night while they sleep. I know, Gross. But apparently its true. What I would like to know is who sits up all night and watches people sleep and counts the spiders who crawl in their mouths. That is even grosser!

So DH would like to weigh in with spiders.

I think motorcycle riders insect quota is higher and that's what skews the consumption per year number

As a runner who runs through the trails I will go along with the spider theme and say flies/insects.

Rob, I keep the quota down by always wearing a full face shield (3/4 or full helmet with face shield). You'd be surprised how much the tiniest things hurt when hitting you at 55+ MPH!

blfenton, bugs while running.....totally forgot about that. Bicycle riding too!!! I chew gum (tuck it in my cheek) while I run to help keep my mouth closed.....but I bet it's worse on trails!
