We have a cruise coming up. San Francisco to Hawaii to Mexico and back. 25 days. We won't be home until mid-March, probably too late to get my seeds started under lights other than some squash or melons.

I'm dreaming of being able to wear summer clothes, hear birds singing merrily early in the mornings, and have all of our gardenia bushes blooming.....oh, what a wonderful fragrance to smell. And dreaming of much lower gas and electric bills.

I'd settle for being outside, basking in the sun (covered in sunscreen!!!!), and then hopping down into the pool to cool off. Sure I think of gardens and birds, but to truly be warm enough to forget about coats, icy windshields, that's what I am after.

I am getting ready to go grocery shopping. It was -6 this morning with a wind chill of -22. I am not sure what it is now. We have more snow moving in over night till morning sometime and the next week or so is not looking much better. I have just been going into the little town nearby once a week or so for groceries but today daughter Cheryl and I plan on going to the bigger town about 30 miles or so away. Tomorrow I may have granddaughter Alyssa here so her parents can go shopping and not have to take her out much in it. I am sure we will have fun playing with play dough. We have not looked at the card in the outside camera for some time. I am looking forward to seeing if any wild animals have wandered by. No day dreams for me, really don't have time to do much of that. I keep really busy.

It was 10 here in my part of Georgia when I went to Dialysis this morning at 4:30 now it is about 16. Sunny and blue skies. May have a few snow flurries tomorrow morning. I'll stay indoors. High of 32 today.

I'm with ya, Sue. Indiana has been so bitter cold this winter. I looked ahead the next 10 days, not much change. Our schools have been on a 2 hour delay everyday. I have stayed in for the most part. Only been out once since Friday. Don't think I have missed much.

We are going to get together with some family for my birthday on Saturday evening. Going to church on Sunday and then Larry has his hand surgery on Monday so I will be getting out some. I need to restock some groceries, too. Maybe I'll do this after church. I hate having to get out in the bitter cold..

I am dreaming of walking my HenryDog to see what is blooming today without wearing boots, parkas and gloves. I also dream of living so far south that it is warm all year. I miss my gardening therapy.

It's up to about 5 here in Sw. Pa. and not going too high today with more snow in the forecast...Right now, I have my bags packed and am dreaming of that warm weather at the end of a flight scheduled for tomorrow morning.....Of course, with my luck, I'll be snowed in and can't get to the airport, lol..............

It's going to be +10C in Calgary today. Not sure what my plans are for the day yet. Well, I wanted to organize my craft room, but so far, I've only made gift tags out of some Christmas cards........ The temp's are supposed to be the same for tomorrow, and I'm trying to talk my other half into driving to Banff for the day.

High of 28F today. I'm dreaming of my flip flops! LOL
I just can't wait for daylight to get longer and longer. Hate coming to work in the dark and driving home in the dark.

The electricity went off for around an hour and the temps inside the house started dropping because my central gas system depends on electronics (as does my oven, so I couldn't even make hot tea).
The elect. is back on, and I have been properly reminded not to take things for granted.

Darn cold here in Ma. with a foot of snow outside and ice everywhere. Luckily today is sunny. Icicles are hanging everywhere but not teeny drips of water are minimizing them. Yes, I have to go pick up my nephew at school but coming right back. Just to walk to the car you have to be dressed like a Sherpa, hat and all. lol

No day dreaming here.

Found my missing CD's a couple of days ago. Put some sounds/music in my new phone to use as ring tones. :)
Now I have to remember to answer the phone when those sounds come on.

Right now, I am listening to a CD my daughter recorded for me, with German Childrens Songs. What a hoot, great that you all can't hear me. ;) cause I really can't carry a tune, but I do have fun singing.

Next I will move the fridge and clean under it, then install a couple of knife magnet strips, to get rid of the knife block on my counter.

Busy, busy... not day dreaming however.

No daydreaming here. This is the coldest winter in a number of years but it's been really sunny which is nice.

Debby +10? That's fantastic. I also saw that the Yukon was in the double digits for a high. Wow, we're still in the -15C rang. Now the winds have picked up which really makes it cold.

It's in the teens here and will go below zero tonight. All kinds of problems with washer, keeping ponds open etc. I love winter but not below temps for weeks. I don't dream of summer because all I can think of is hot sweltering humid weather in the upper 90's. I'm inside as much then as now.

Today we are having a preview of the summer to come...so no daydreaming necessary! Sixty-nine degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Well, we do have wind... and fire danger and murmurs of a future drought... so it really is a "preview".
Sooo.... off to enjoy our lovely day!

It would be hekpful in weather posts to state where you are. My name says I am in Iowa. I am getting tired of the extreme cold which we have not had for 20 years. Since I have only been here 8 years, it is my very first experience with extreme cold. I stay warm whether I am indoors or out because I dress for it. I have been daydreaming about summer and going to the pool. Also, starting in spring, I can take my dog for long walks. I love going for walks and breathing in the clean Iowa air. I am also looking forward to my trip to Costa Rica in August.

Daydream 24/7 for those upper 90's and sunny blue skies.

We're happy to be 'away' during all this awful cold and snow, followed by more cold and snow, followed by... oh, you know.

I wonder how much time I've spent in my life just getting bundled up to go somewhere in that weather. At least nowadays we have automatic garage door openers -- remember hauling those up and down -- in the cold? I've done my share of 'rocking' a car to get it out of a snow-rut, and pushing too. Our current all-wheel-drive has been wonderful.

Beautiful day here on Maui, close to 80F with Trade Winds and clear skies. Big surf is dying down on the northern faces of the islands. Whale mamas are teaching their new calves about life -- and 'parking' the babies with aunties to go off briefly with whatever big bulls' mighty show-off breaches were most impressive.

(I still have to make dinner though, you know.)

On a year over year basis, I'll take this northern winter weather over Houston weather ANY day! I abhor 85 (or warmer) and humid.

I hear you!! I live near Houston and the summers are unbearable at times. I remember one year seriously contemplating permanently moving to Wisconsin or New York State.

But I suppose every place has attractions and detractions and the older I get, the more the cold seems to affect me.
In the summer I'm active in the morning-bicycling, gardening, and so on; but from 10-11AM to 4PM stay inside in the air conditioning. Then I'm outside again in the late afternoons.
The humidity here is awful though, stepping outside at 3PM in the summer is sometimes like stepping into a steam bath.

I'm in Long Island, where we got a foot of snow Wednesday, schools were closed but now we're back to "normal" but with snow still on the ground. Temps are keeping me indoors, it's been single digits at night and early morning, teens during the day, cold spell supposed to last two more weeks. No January thaw is expected. Luckily we have plenty to eat and drink, full pantry and freezer, plus we signed up for Meals on Wheels since hubby's confined to bed due to MS.Yep I'm planning my spring garden. I don't start seeds this early, but I may order some interesting vegetable seeds. Been watching a lot of TV.

I am here in NW Florida, where, this morning it was 35 and damp. It's supposed to be 65 and raining by this afternoon. Tues. and Wed. next week will be low thirty degree temps with highs in the 40's.

We who live north of the Great Lakes ...
