We need prayers for a miracle for Lori

Hey, Y'all. I don't post or comment often -- guess I'm more of a lurker. But I did post about Lori maybe a year ago. And I KNOW you all believe in the power of prayers, like I do, so I'm asking. . .

Lori is 33 and married to my son for about 2 and 1/2 years and battling stage 4 breast cancer for 3 years this month. She went 13 months cancer-free and it came back in Sept. She's gone through 2 major surgeries, 29 rounds of chemo and a series of radiation. She's a trooper. They got married when she'd finished her first series of chemo and she had a beautiful wig for their fairy tale wedding! Anyway, the chemo isn't working. She was hospitalized last weekend and this weekend from complications and in one week, the tumor has grown. She's been enrolled in a clinical trial for a new drug, but that doesn't start for several weeks. We don't know if she has that much time left. . .

I DO believe in miracles! And in the power of prayer! I've had great hope that this experimental drug will knock that damn tumor out of her. We NEED a miracle for this sweet, smart, loving, kind, ALWAYS smiling and laughing, amazing human being, who has the been the best thing to ever happen in my son's life.

Need house sale miracle in early 2008

The painters are nearly finished at our former home; rainy weather delayed the exterior trim repainting. Our RE agent has arranged for his own housekeeper to clean the house tomorrow, and the photographer will take pictures next week. An open house will be held this weekend, and probably most weekends until the house sells. The builder of the new houses in the neighborhood has dropped prices a little, but we will still be priced below the competition. Activity has picked up in the last few weeks, so we're cautiously optimistic. On the medical front, the news isn't quite so good as the doctors now think another operation is unavoidable, but our child isn't yet healthy enough to withstand surgery. More than ever I am glad we moved, since the new house is a better place in which to recuperate because it has a second bedroom & bathroom on the main floor as well as some beautiful views from the patio. We're hoping that our former home sells quickly, but are now prepared to handle both mortgage payments for up to a year (please don't let it be that long!) I admit that it hurt to see the settlement estimate and to realize how much we'll lose, but it's still the right thing to do. We also have a much smaller house in another city that will go on the market this summer, once it's vacated by our other child. Today I received the good news that the painters working on our former home are willing to travel to the other house once it's empty to repaint it in preparation for selling. I estimate that we can repaint the interior walls (I can just touch up the trim), recarpet (4 smallish rooms), and do some other updating for about 1% of our expected sales price. It's in a pretty good market, and I think that house should sell quickly. By the end of the year we hope to be down to one house and to have reduced our debt to less than half its value. More importantly, I hope that by mid-year there will be no more need for home health care and we can relax and enjoy the new house. The new "normal" will be a lot different than before, but maybe we'll have gotten to the point where dh & I can handle things on our own. Thanks again for your good wishes.

Ditto: Blessings to the medical staff who are caring for this child that that they may have the necessary skills and knowledge to continue with Jaiden's steady healing and progress towards a full recovery. Blessings to the family and friends of Jaiden that they may take comfort in the certain knowledge that strangers across the country are praying for them and with them. And my prayers for Jaiden that she may feel surrounded by the peace, the love, and the healing force of her family, her friends, her church and community, and strangers of all faiths. Thanx again everyone! Haven't talked to her this morning as Lakota has a appt. with a specialist..but will talk to her this evening. My sil is going to take her a stroller and clothes when she gets back from the doc. And she even called her yesterday (Kasey called her aunt) this is the frist time since Levi was a baby that they have talked...the best part is...my sil was in a very abusive relationship before she married my brother and she is willing to share her story with Kasey....so they are planning on meeting tonight...Kasey sounded great last night when I talked to her and if she is up to it my parents are going to visit her tomorrow (they too haven't seen her since Levi was a baby they are over the moon!)

Prayers on the way for Lori, family and medical staff. There are so many new treatments as I well know when DH went thru all of that. before he passed away from other complications. They do work.

This is the Holy Spirit talking! I swear, I was just thinking about your dil the other day. I had no clue what her name or even who posted about her, but I remembered the "story".
I just found a clipping I had cut out over a year ago. "if there were no falls, we wouldn't know the glory of God's lifting us up". Prayers for a complete healing for Lori!

Our Gracious Father,
You say in Your Word that where two of us agree as touching anything we shall ask, it shall be done by Your Father which is in Heaven. By Your Words we know then that Lori is being healed and will live long and healthy. Thank You that Your Word never returns to You void. Thank You for good health and well being for Lori. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Thank you all, so VERY much for your prayers and positive thoughts. I know that when "two or more are gathered together. . ." Lori is still hospitalized with trouble breathing after having complications from having fluid drained from her lung. The good news is that they're gonna speed up her starting the trial drug. I have hope that this drug will knock that DAMN tumor into an alternate universe!

So sad to hear about Lori's set-back. Many prayers coming your way for Lori, for her doctor'sÃ¢ÂÂ¦..may they find the best treatment possible for her bringing her back to good health once again and for the rest of the family. I cannot imagine the anguish you are going through.
