Granite overhang problem- shims on counterplate

Hello everyone!
We just got a granite countertop installed. For the overhang, we used 5 counterplates. When the granite installers placed the overhang, he stated that 2 of the plates were not quite level, so he used wood shims. I have attached pictures. I am grateful the overhang is level, but the shims are an eyesore. A family member says it looks "bush league".

Has anyone ever seen this? What would you do to improve the appearance of these 2 brackets? I was wondering is we need to put black caulk or possibly cover with a corbels.

Thanks so much.
