We used Impala Black in our kitchen. It is actually a dark gray. We love it!

All grey or some grey? Bianco Antico has equal parts grey and white:

The other thing to look at is Absolute Black. Many, if not most, of the ABs today are actually dark gray. Last year, it took us months to find an AB that was a true, deep black...and we had to pay a premium for it! (It was called "Absolute Black Premium." It was a very small lot, just 5 slabs & we needed 3.)

You can go to Marble.com and search for grey granites and see a huge list.

I think that there is a silver fleck version of Black Galaxy.

Caesarstone has Smoky Ash that is dark grey.

    Here are some ideas.

I used Jet Mist aka Virginia Jet Mist. When I first
picked out this slab it looked more black but the
honed finish is more gray. I love it. ~boxerpups

I saw honed pietra cordoza in a house and it was gorgeous!
Don't know if that is a granite or marble but it looked great.

We are using Caesarstone "dusty stones" in our kitchen for the perimeter,

and polished "oceanic bluestone", which is a basalt, not a granite, in our dining room: . The bluestone is really gray, with much less movement than granite. It has a brownish cast.

I was looking for a gray granite too. We were looking at Silver Pearl (a.k.a. Steel Gray) and Labrador Black. I ended up going with Black Pearl because I thought the others would be too busy and I wanted something more uniform. I liked the Black Pearl because it is more forgiving than other blacks and it is a little softer. It goes well with our marble backsplash. Good luck with your search.

robinst, do you have a pic of your granite? DH had gone to the granite yard when we first started by himself and came home saying he liked the black pearl. When we went back there was none left.

I am looking for a subtle but striking granite. I want a backsplash that is pretty earthy so I don't anything really ornate.

    Jodi in so cal,

I've admired your kitchen several times. I like the Black Impala granite with your cabinets. Please share the manufacturer of your cabinets, the wood, and the stain. Many thanks!

    Thanks JB ...

Our cabinets are a custom design (my design) that were manufactured at Valley Custom Doors. A company out of Wisconsin that our contractor uses. They are a Cherrywood with brandy stain and chocolate glaze.

Some good suggestions to check out would be: Sira Grey or Castle Grey. My favorite is the Castle Grey.

My friends have "Blue Eyes" and it's really a gray-looking with those amazing spots of blue looking up at you in the right light. Uba Tuba looks gray-green, and varies a lot depending on which slab you get to see in the yard.
