What materials are appropriate for a small outdoor kitchen that'll be tucked under a covered porch?

- I've seen marble countertops/bars. Are those the same as indoor granites? They hold up okay?
- Can tile work outside, or does it become faded? I'm thinking it'd work fine since it can be used in swimming pools.
