Making a window sill out of a leftover piece of Corian?

When my kitchen was gutted, we saved a piece of the 30 year old Corian with the hope that it could be used to make a window sill. The piece came from a built in desk and hasn't had much wear. There is no seam in the piece.

Can any fabricator work on leftover Corian? The color of the Corian is almost identical to my cabinet and window trim color; it would be a nice surface for the various plants, flowers and what-have-you that I put on my window sill. The wooden sill ended up peeling a bit, but that may have been age along with dampness. My counter top will be Perla Venata quartzite, so it would be an obvious contrast and not look like part of the window.

It can be done. We reused our Corian from our prior kitchen in our remodel. The contractor's brother did counters and he repaired an edge that got damaged during removal from the old layout and made a window sill with the pieces that had been the "backsplash".

Thanks, Debbie! I had a Corian window sill in a previous kitchen 20 years ago and LOVED it. How is yours doing?

Was he an official Corian installer? Can any fabricator work on an old piece?

Corian is easily fabricated with woodworking tools.

My windowsill is Corian - had I known that I was going to reno the kitchen, I would have waited on the window and gone counter level and extended my counter into the window.
Fortunately, I went with white Corian, so it doesn't clash.
