Opinions of Cabinet Quotes

We finally have quotes from several cabinet distributors for our remodel. They are all around 14000.00 for the same layout and maple/hickory doors. I know that maple is the safe choice but I like the look of hickory.
The American Woodmark came in at 9000.00 I have Shiloh, Schuler, Medallion and Kraftmaid in the mix.
If most things are equal , which would you view as a better value? APC, soft close, and a few cabinet inserts are included in all lines. Shiloh includes glaze for free and it is not the inset line.
I also would like your opinions on Hickory . Would it deter you from buying a house?

Hickory is nice in the right house, but it doesn't belong everywhere. What's the rest of your house like? (I can't comment on the prices, we had custom cabs made for better or worse-- better for the customization, worse for the checkbook balance.)
