I would consider darker, but it also depends on the light you get in your kitchen. What you picked is not bad, if you don't get a lot of light in your kitchen, it maybe okay. Its a personal choice

I'd go darker. Your inspiration photo has a darker floor.

We have a small window over the sink and a glass exterior door next to the washer/dryer stack. Going to go check out darker options today. Seems like it could work as is, but maybe a bit too beachy.

You need contrast. Go darker. I'd do something in a faux slate or faux wood tile rather than just an undifferentiated linear look. And you need some warmth. Look at Florida Tile. Berkshire, Olive colorway.

I like the floor and would definitely pick either something modern and clean (like you have) or darker wood-like. like live-wire's above (but NOT the more traditional slate-look).
