There was a recent thread about putting pulls on fake drawer fronts which might help from the looks standpoint. As to whether you need them for a tilt-out, I think you probably do, but as I don't have them in my current kitchen, I don't know if they're required to operate/open them.

Yes you need pulls - probably 2 - one on each side which is what I have - mine are small and round and the same as on my cabinets - I don't know if a single one in the center would provide enough leverage to open it. You can see pictures on my home page.

FWIW mine has a pull.

BTW take a look at what they're going to put inside it. Make sure they use the widest and deepest tray that will fit inside. I have a 36" sink base, and it has two dinky little 11" trays that just barely hold a spatula and a sponge. A 22" or even 25" tray would have been so much more useful, and they are available. Also mine is 3" deep, but a 4" one would fit and again would hold much more.

thx, all. very helpful. i'll assume i need two and make a decision when i see the unit. i don't mind having a few extra "just-in-case" pulls.

A lot of people here have said they find these things relatively useless. (But that is hearsay.)

You also might want to consider if this will require you to position your sink back further from the front of the counter. Having it closer may be better on your back.

I have a pull (not a knob) on mine and only needed one. It's a 33" inch cabinet, so the tilt out is a little smaller. I LOVE my little tilt out. It holds my sponges and a few small cleaning brushes, keeps them out of sight but very easy to get when needed.

thx, susan. i think one pull wil be fine if i just have a single drawer -- my sink base is only 27". i pulled out my diagrams and it looks like a single panel; now that i know i need pulls, i'll just email the store and ask them to confirm how many compartments. :)
