How to find a laminate countertop installer?

I'm looking at Formica or Nevamar for my kitchen, but having a terrible time finding fabricators/installers on the web. Is there a secret to locating these people? What are they called? Thanks for your help! Will post this in "remodeling" forum also.

Search for "countertops". Many fabricators do more than one kind. Even if it says they only do solid surface and granite, give them a call anyway. Most don't advertise laminate counters even though they may do them. Or, ask a local family or friend where they got their new counters. Word of mouth is always the best way to find good contractors.

I have been a member of www.homeadvisor.com for many years and highly recommend them. The service is free for homeowners and you can read the reviews of contractors beforehand. You must be a customer to do a review and contractors do not get to delete poor reviews, so they are very credible and you know the good ones aren't written by the contractor's brother-in-law.
