Finally have made a decision as to a new countertop.

and that is to replace the white tile countertops with a white quartz. I need your guidance as to what white or whitish quartz to purchase. I live in a large metropolitan area so have access to Zodiaq, Cambria, Silestone, etc. I don't want to purchase the wrong one and have to replace in a few years.

I would appreciate your recommendations/thoughts on which would be the best. I make heavy use of my kitchen. I do want to retain the white tile backsplash; do you see any problems in doing that?

Also remember something about resin yellowing. Sun? Clorox products can do that over time too.

I had a repair call for Wilsonart Solid Surface Veneer. It was irreparable, so I gave the lady a price on top replacement. I made it clear that under no circumstances would I be responsible for any damages to her tile backsplash at any time. If you get any proposals that don't include bold contract language to this effect, don't do business with that contractor. He's an idiot.

Your existing tops and splash may not be flat and level. Any tops I install are going to be. Be ready to make the tradeoffs.

Walnutcreek, I'd be interested to find out who you choose to install your counter. I'm in Alamo and will be looking for something similar in a couple of months. Have you made contact with any suppliers?

I have cambria Whitney and it is really pretty. It is not completely white, it does have some gray and shiny flecks in it.

I want to apologize for posting my question twice. I could not find the first third I thought I had posted, but decided I had actually not "submitted" it for posting.

Regardless, I want to thank all of you for your comments and thoughts and recommendations. Have a lot of food for thought now.

Just wanted to say how much I love my Silestone counters (Mahogany, though, very dark) .... I've had them for over 10 yrs and never get tired of them. Easy to clean, no sealing needed, holds up to accidents (someone put a pot of boiling pasta directly on it, someone else cuts veggies, etc, directly on it, neither left a mark). Very happy with the looks and quality.
