A holiday gift: mid-reno dessert, no cooking!

This week I made a monumental discovery. One I would have used often if I knew about it during my reno.

Pudding Shots! No cooking, little mess, and best of all, a little alcohol.

Tools needed: medium bowl, whisk, spatula, spoon
Utilities required: water and refrigeration

Mudslide Pudding Shots:
-I small pack chocolate instant pudding
-1 cup milk, cold
-3 oz Khalua
-3 oz Irish cream (like Bailey's)
-8 oz package Cool Whip, defrosted (I use the extra creamy)

Mix pudding mix with milk until smooth. Mix in alcohol (I've also added all the liquid at once with great success). Allow to set if not already soft-set (takes about 5 min, so might be fine by the time you are done mixing). Fold in Cool Whip. Spoon into small containers and refridgerate. (My local grocery store carries the little plastic "Jell-O shot" type lidded containers in the section with paper plates/plastic utensils)

Reno tip: buy little mini bottles if you cant access/store the larger bottles - a little more expensive long term, but the quantity is small enough to make this a great solution

Kid-friendly mousse:

(basically divide the amount of "milk" on the package directions by 2 and split to your preferences. Since this is a large box pudding, 3 cups is divided)

1.5(+) c heavy cream
1.5(-) c milk
1 (large) package jello instant chocolate fudge pudding

Whip, whip, whip.
Divide.

Eat plain or
Top with ground oreos, mini chocolate chips, or whatever you have on hand (sprinkles are popular around here).

williamsem, have you actually made them - are they delicious? (I have a super-super easy chocolate dessert - mini molten lava cakes, but you do need to bake them)

I have indeed made them, and they are delicious! I'm taking a batch with me in a minute to our Christmas Eve gathering.

I batch makes 25 full shots. Tip: limit your sampling, if you aren't watching closely the pudding gets sneaky and jumps on your clothes.

Hi A2! Have my hands full with other projects (reno creep), but I try to stop in every couple of weeks. I miss everyone here, but until I get some things wrapped up I don't have the time to let the pretty kitchens distract me :-). DH is tired of living in a construction zone so I have to focus.
