aloha2009-I am using firefox and installed pop up blocker a few months ago - poof - no more annoying screen filling ads. If you google pop ups and gardenweb there are a ton of posts on it and different ad ons depending on your browser. I am not sure about ipads though.

There isn't an easy solution for ipads, unfortunately. You can't use add-ons (extensions) with apps. There is an adblock browser app, but by all the reports it's pretty terrible.

I'm on an iPad right now and I've never seen the febreeze ad, or any pop up for that matter. There is a Kraft habanero ad on the far right of my screen now but it's not in the way.

Yes, sorry, I should have been clearer. Many of the page covering ads run on flash, which doesn't run on ipads, but there isn't any way to eliminate the in-text ads or the side ads.
