Get a good one. The Insinkerator Evolution Compact is just a little smaller than the standard so we bought it for our prep sink and smaller cabinet. It keeps up with my DH and it is the quietest disposal I've had or heard.

The prep sink is likely to be where most of the grinding will be needed. Agree that you need a good one. My Insinkerator, installed 28 years ago and used almost daily, is still operating, albeit noisier than new models. Any of their Evolution series would be good and I'd go for the best model that fits your space and budget.

We also have the Evolution, although not the "Compact" version, and I highly recommend it because it is so [relatively] quiet.
