For something universal, I use Basic H mixed in water, with a few drops off essential oil - usually lemongrass. I use it on floors, cabinets, marble, and quartz. I also have an assortment of Method cleaners; Daily Granite, Wood For Good, and their blue glass cleaner. But I'm leaning more and more toward the Basic H. Enjoy your kitchen!

where do you buy essential oils like lemongrass?

Amazon or Whole Foods, usually. I'm using Kis Oils right now, see link. Just a couple of drops to about 10 ounces of Basic H solution.

If you are happy with the dish soap, you can just put a small amount in a spray bottle and fill the rest with water. Easy and cheap.

I have honed Carrara perimeters and walnut plank island top. For my marble, I use what my fabricator recommended. In a new spray bottle mix 2-3 drops of liquid dish detergent with *distilled* water. That's it. It makes my marble much sparklier than just water. Plus, it's very inexpensive and I know exactly what's in it.

I'd be careful with your wood counter. What type of finish do you have? Is the spekva you mentioned the finish? Check the manufacturers recommendation for cleaning. I used to occasionally use my marble cleaner on my walnut until my wood fabricator said it wasn't recommended for the Osmo Polyx oil on my counter.

I told my house cleaner to use a damp cloth - just water and a microfiber cloth.

We use cutting mats,l and if there is something that a damp cloth can't remove, I take care of it.

Basic H - see link. Super concentrated cleaner, a bottle will last three or four years. Better than Dawn? Dunno. But it does clean.
