How to avoid sink splash?

I did a mini kitchen update and replaced our sink and faucet. I used the same sizes but we are now experiencing splashing on the counters and on our arms.

The sink and faucet are an interim change while we plan a major kitchen reno. I can live with minor splashing because I know it is not permanent But, when we do the major update I would not be happy if we still had splashing.

I think our current problem is the angle of the new faucet. Is there any way to figure out before purchase if a sink/faucet combo might be splashy?
