Matching flooring with new cabinets

Hi everyone,
I would love to get suggestions on what kind of wood floor would complement my new cabinets. They are maple stained a dark cherry. I feel I should stay away from a darker floor because the room does not have a lot of natural light. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What is your counter? Can you post some pics? I would go with something medium toned---very light or very dark will show more dirt.

Wood flooring in a kitchen isn't a good idea because of spills and water issues. However, if you like the look, there is now tile that looks like a wood floor. It's pretty good looking and you almost have to touch it to see that it's tile. I had a house with cabinets like yours and we used a slate look tile and it looked fabulous. I wouldn't try matching the wood under any circumstances and you may want something lighter than your cabinets because there should be some contrast.
