Is 24 gauge stainless steel too thin for a vent hood?

I have many vent hood questions but will tackle this one first. I'm trying to decide between a Fantech range vent hood insert (Model SGHL-30) with 304/22 gauge SS over galvanized steel vs. a Tradewind insert (400 Designer series) with 24 gauge SS over galvanized steel. The chromium to nickel ratio is unknown for the Tradewind liner.
Fantech appears to have a superior product based on the SS, but the Tradewind liner is my preference since it uses baffles. The Fantech product has mesh filters. Do you think the Tradewind hood insert will be durable? I'm a widow so don't have a DH to wrestle with these issues.

For a response, refer to "Anyone have a Tradewind Insert?" on the Appliances forum. I called the manufacturer regarding this quality concern and was pleased with the response.
