Where to end the backsplash?

I have a dilemma should I end the backlash to the countertop or cabinet?
Option 1: cabinet
Option 2: counter and then add an extra cabinet or shelves
Option 3: add more backplash tiles on the side all the way up to the top of the cabinet. (This will avoid adding a cabinet making the kitchen small. Imo
Any suggestions?
