Southern 2008 about my marble island

Souther 2008 - I just saw your post asking about my island countertop. It is marble as you thought. It's honed Imperial Danby. I love it but it does etch. I've been using it for a few months now and have sealed it twice. No stains as the sealer prevents this but it does etch. I think over time the etches will all blend together and not be noticeable individually. I wouldn't use the marble throughout my kitchen but am happy with it for just the island. (The countertops on the perimeter are honed absolute black granite). Good luck with your selections.

Wanted to let you know that when I try to view your kitchen (one of my favorites) on the FKB, it will not bring up the pics. Maybe you can look at it and fix it, so others can also enjoy your beautiful kitchen for a long time to come.

Thanks for posting!! It's so gorgeous!! I love it!! Being that really only one side of my kitchen will have countertops and my main working surface will be my island, I guess I can't do the marble. It's also that very refined look, which I LOOOOOVVVEEE but I also love the English rustic look too which is where we were originally going with this so I guess I'll stick to my original plan. Especially if you wouldn't want it as your main working area. When you say Danby--is that a Crema Marfil Danby (looks creamy to me more than white)? I am assuming the Danby is kind of like a brand and then has the varieties of calcutta, crema marfil, etc? Regardless, I LOVE your kitchen.
