translucent solid surface

I would love glass counter tops, but can't afford them, and don't want to care for them. I saw Avonite and Meganite have translucent solid surface materials. Rather than being all acrylic, they are a combination of polyester and acrylic which allows them to be translucent. Anyone have any experience with them?

Yes. You'll want a fabricator with experience with them. Are you planning to backlight them?
