X-post: Which wood specie to match strand woven bamboo?

I apologize for the xpost from woodwork forum. But the clock is ticking, and I need to find a solution fast.

I'm having a heck of hard time finding a 6x14 flush mount carbonized strand woven bamboo floor register. My floor is being installed next Thursday, so I'd better have it purchased and stained before the floor guys come.

The best bet I have right now is purchasing online (on ebay). This listing has quite a few species available in the size 6x14. All are unfinished, so I'll need to stain the vent anyway.

- American Cherry
- Brazilian Cherry
- Brazilian Walnut
- Hickory
- Maple
- Red Oak
- Santos Mahogany
- White Oak

And here is the flooring I need to match:

Can you gurus tell me which vent I should get that can closest resemble my flooring after staining?

I'd stain the hickory based upon this picture.

Your picture's watermark says Cali Bamboo - is that where you got the flooring? They also have register covers. Maybe they have one that matches your floor.

HI ae2ga, yes, you are right. The floor is Cali Bamboo. Unfortunately, they don't make flush floor vent. I even called and checked. Also, 6x14 is not a common size. I could find 4x14 in carbonized strand woven bamboo.

I hope I can get a close match with staining.
