Today my plans hit a snag when I found out the wall where the fridge currently is load bearing. Ideally I wanted to bring the wall up 96 inches from the walkway and go over to the far wall giving me room for an island and creating an open flow. On the other side of the kitchen is a dining room and in the hallway to the left of the kitchen is a pantry hallway. I am wondering if the best layout would be to close off the pantry hallway and run more cabinet along the wall, then open up the entryway wider and put in an island.
