| For our new build we are planning 5 recessed lights for the kitchen and mini hanging pendants over the island. The mini hanging pendants that match my dining room fixture are 60w lights (I would have three of these) and I had a lighting designer tell me that a 100w light would be better. Anyone have a similar lighting layout (kitchen is L shaped with almost 8' island) and use 60w over island. If so, if this enough light?

I think 3 - 100 watt fixtures are overkill. The pendants hang lower directing more light down to the counters. My island is about 6.5' long. I have 2 pendants with LED bulbs. The LED bulbs are 13 W 800 lumens. They are bight and don't heat up the kitchen like incandescents.  |
