When we redid the kitchen, the heirloom hutch moved to the media room to be a media hutch.
Our corner cabinet is enormous. It holds all of the "good" dishes and crystal that was in the hutch. And it holds all the cookbooks too. (Cookbooks may move to another location).

Regular corner cabinet but including this pic more for the staggered height in the uppers. This is one of the few times I've seen different heights look good.

The only glass I have in my kitchen is my oversized corner cabinet. When I bought the house I went right out and bought opaque replacement glass for it because I didn't want all that space to have to look "pretty." My pantry is in the breakfast nook, so it's used for baking supplies. I have big bins with flour, sugars, baking powder, etc. on the lowest shelf, a lazy susan with spices on the second shelf (with chips, nuts, etc. behind the spices), things I rarely use (molasses and various other random supplies) on the third shelf, and things I almost never use (like Christmas cookie cutters and cake decorating supplies) on the fourth shelf. Each shelf is very deep so I'll put my flour and sugar in the very front, my brown sugar behind that, and my confectioners sugar behind that. I have enough empty space that I can slide the items around when I'm getting something from behind.

When I'm getting ready to move I will put the clear glass back in and store my Polish pottery or the like in there.

I don't know if my picture is very helpful..but I have mostly decorative items in my corner cabinet. It is very deep so I don't use if for anything that I need to reach on a daily basis.
